It's Just a Marriage

[Marriage Before Love] [Proud Heiress x A Racer Who's Stubborn About Everything Except XX]

In high society, Ruan Siyao and Qi Lan are two people who never cross paths.

They say the male celebrities Ruan Siyao has dated could make up an entire sports team.

They say Qi Lan changes girlfriends more often than he changes clothes.

Yet their families arranged a marriage between them.

Ruan Siyao was against it, but couldn't refuse the match, so she had to find a way to provoke Qi Lan into turning it down.

At their first meeting, Ruan Siyao dressed like a heartbreaker and met Qi Lan, who looked like a playboy.

They exchanged a glance and instantly disliked each other.

Then someone deliberately stirred things up: "You both love having fun, so why not get married and have fun together?"

She was afraid Ruan Siyao would steal the man she secretly loved, Luo Yu.

Ruan Siyao pretended to be casual. "Sure. Luo Yu's been chasing me and it's getting annoying. Getting married would put an end to it."

Qi Lan glanced over from nearby and scoffed. "Using me as a shield?"

Their eyes met again.

Qi Lan leaned brazenly back in his chair, his gaze dark. "I don't mind. I'll be your shield. It's just a marriage, right?"

-

Seeing that she hadn't managed to provoke him, Ruan Siyao had no choice but to move on to Plan B.

That night, she flew abroad to watch a male revue and posted on her social media: "I'm bored of this."

Qi Lan sneered. That very night, he gathered his friends for a lavish, decadent drinking party and posted: "Having fun?"

They each spent a month showing off on social media, but neither of them tried to convince their families to call off the match.

So they really were getting married.

On their first day of marriage, Qi Lan stared at the luxurious bed, his expression stiff. "We're both experienced. It's just sharing a bed, right?"

Ruan Siyao braced herself against the wall, saying one thing while meaning another. "Hmph, this bed's a little too big."

Later:

It's just holding hands, right?

It's just a kiss, right?

It's just... falling for you, right?

-

Everyone thought the marriage between two playboys was dead in all but name.

But when Qi Lan won the rally championship, he ran straight to Ruan Siyao with his medal and hung it around her neck.

A reporter teased him: "What made you settle down?"

Qi Lan: "Settle down? My first love is my wife!"

He paused, still stubbornly refusing to back down. "It's not like I've ever had more than one girlfriend in my life."
