After Confessing to Matsuda Three Times, I Became His Boss

[My new novel is up next door: After Hagiwara Faked His Death, His Replacement Went After the Same Person. Also check out my current novel: The Detective System Teaches You to Take the Blame for Whatever Job You Do.] [I've arranged with my editor to enter the paid section on January 19. There'll be a 10,000-character update that day. I hope everyone will support it! quq] [Romance and mystery are the focus. The Black Organization will be involved, but there'll be no undercover work. I just want to write a romance that doesn't make you think too hard.] [Daily updates at 18:30, uploaded on schedule (sometimes I forget to set the time and it might be a little late). I'll post a notice if I can't update that day.] Although I'm a transmigrator, I've always thought of myself as pretty ordinary. After all, I didn't get into the University of Tokyo (I got into Kyoto University), and I didn't place first at the police academy (I placed second). But I do have an extraordinary dream: I want to date Matsuda. But as a detective in the First Investigative Division, I spend all my time on my daily work. Where am I supposed to find the time to flirt with a cute guy? "I want to fall in love, waaaah." I don't know how many times I've wailed like this while eating with Sato. Sato comfortingly patted my head. Two days later, she asked if I wanted to go to a mixer. Hagiwara's side was organizing one. Hagi! "I'm in!" But I didn't know that I was about to face a loser of a love life, confessing three times and failing every time. Since my love life was a failure, all I could do was keep working hard at my career. But the harder I worked, the more I realized I'd become Matsuda's superior. Then, at the fourth mixer, I was so sleepy that I overslept. When I woke up, I found Matsuda waiting outside my door. Pairing: Matsuda. The heroine falls first, with a long period of mutual pining. The entire Police Academy group survives, but this isn't a fix-it story. × A little story I wrote for my own amusement and to lift my spirits. Aside from the cases, I don't want to think too hard. × Third-person narration. × The heroine thinks she's ordinary, but she's actually quite capable, even if she's no mastermind. × She's doted on by everyone, but she's a beautiful, strong, tragic heroine (my friend said her backstory was really sad after reading the character notes). × Don't bash me. Feel free to drop it if you want. × Hagiwara, Matsuda, and the Class Rep have different career paths after graduation. × There'll be lots of subtle one-sided crushes on the heroine. × No traditional "chasing your wife to the crematorium" plot. It's just an ordinary sweet romance, quq. (There might be a bit where Matsuda pursues her again, but I haven't decided yet. The final version will depend on the actual story!) × I'll add things as I think of them. Synopsis written on 2022/09/20, revised on 2022/10/23. [Please add this upcoming story to your favorites: The System Helps You Get Through the Seven-Year Itch with Matsuda] Full title: The Idiot System Thinks You and Matsuda Have the Seven-Year Itch, But Actually You're Just Playing Around There's a rumor in the Metropolitan Police Department. Apparently, Matsuda got married seven years ago. But nobody has ever seen his spouse. All they've seen is the wedding ring Matsuda always wears on his ring finger. His coworkers thought he was just putting on a brave face, and nobody took it seriously. Then, in the seventh year of their marriage, Matsuda's spouse showed up. She brought a huge bouquet of roses to the police station, coldly tossed them onto his desk, then turned and left. Matsuda ran after her. "Is that really Matsuda's wife?" "Is Matsuda going through the seven-year itch?" "Are they getting divorced?" Matsuda: ... I've told you, there's no seven-year itch! It's just a little game between us, that's all!! They didn't know that after running out, Matsuda had pinned Fuyutsuki Hayami against the wall in the stairwell where no one could see them and kissed her. [Please check out my current novel: The Detective System Teaches You to Take the Blame for Whatever Job You Do] Matsuda took in Shimotsuki Yukieda. She's six years younger than him and a third-year university student this year. Matsuda still treated her like a little sister, even though they weren't related by blood and hadn't gone through any formal adoption process. His little sister was rebellious and refused to call him big brother, so Matsuda made her say it. They fought for three hundred rounds, and she gave in. "Big Brother Matsuda." Matsuda corrected her. "Big Brother Jinpei." She said, "Pfft! Jinpei." Matsuda thought: One day, I'll make her obediently call me big brother. But one day, Matsuda stopped wanting her to call him big brother. Theme: Never give up
