Are We Still Getting Divorced? [The Nineties]

[Bringing back the original premise, but I couldn't make it work, so I'm changing it]

In the eyes of outsiders, Ling Susu's marriage is enviable:

Her husband, Du Xizhou, is Jiangcheng's richest man, comes home late and leaves early, and has no scandalous affairs.

Her mother-in-law is generous, giving her a set of luxury jewelry every few days.

Her brother-in-law is so cautious that he even asks Ling Susu to approve his 50,000-yuan allowance.

Even her sister-in-law praises her brother and sister-in-law as the perfect couple on variety shows.

But whenever reporters ask why the couple still have no children, everyone in the Du family falls into a strange silence.

How are they supposed to answer?

They can't exactly say that Ling Susu and Du Xizhou are only a couple in public, and have actually been sleeping in separate rooms all along.

A contract binds two people who can't seem to understand each other:

One only wants to escape being forced by her stepmother to marry an old widower;

The other only wants to find an easygoing woman, get married, and claim his grandfather's trust fund.

Now the contract has expired. Ling Susu packs her things, ready to leave.

She pushes open the door to Du Xizhou's study and asks, "When are we going to register for divorce?"

Holding a share transfer contract, the man looks up leisurely. "What divorce?"

Ling Susu: ?

Du Xizhou: I'll give you half my shares. Stay and keep up the act for three more years.

Ling Susu: Deal.

Three years later, Ling Susu hides her pregnancy test results.

She pushes open the door to Du Xizhou's office again. "I've already booked a divorce appointment through the mini-program."

Du Xizhou: You violated the honesty clause in Article Nineteen. We're not getting divorced.

Ling Susu: ???
