[Gintama] The Villain Took Over My Graduation Thesis

I'd staked everything on my graduation thesis, but on the day I went to collect my materials, I discovered that my subject wasn't a radioactive rock.

A man in a cloak appeared in the research lab, revealing a gloomy face with an overwhelming presence.

With a smile that didn't reach his eyes, he told me to study him however I liked, and that I could dissect him any way I wanted.

No one mentioned that my thesis subject was a living member of the opposite sex!

The more I looked at him, the more familiar he seemed. I gripped his powerful arm, and finally remembered everything.

This was a manga world, and this planet's largest Altana was a major villain in human form. At the end, he apparently...

Successfully blew everything to smithereens, with no chance of coming back.

What was my thesis topic again?

Altana contamination remediation, performance expansion, and new energy conversion.

"No! Wait, don't blow up yet!"

The big villain had such a terrifying aura. I was afraid to speak or go near him, and I really wanted to cry.

But I wanted to graduate.

Every time I saw him casually blow himself into pieces, I felt like I was looking at my own miserable future. I was the only one who cried the hardest and most sincerely,

sobbing as I gathered up his minced flesh and desperately tried to piece him back together.

Then the shapeless mass of regenerating flesh patted me and asked in confusion,

"Why are you crying? Are you crying because I just died?"

Altana, blowing up all the time.

Completely unaware of what he was doing, he treated his own life like a toy. His greatest hobby and pursuit was dying.

Altana, completely changing your life.

Listen, my graduation thesis is regenerating his arm while chattering away.

His vocal cords haven't recovered yet, so I can't make out what he's saying, but I can translate it automatically:

So, do you like the extra year of study I gave you? Hmm? Do you like it?

Me: Anyway, please don't die before I make a brilliant success of my life with this project.

Xu: That might take far too long.
