[Western Crossover] My Dead Lover Came Back to Life

Thanks to legal aid from a mysterious billionaire, on the seventh day after I killed Clark, I was finally acquitted.

I returned to the apartment where we'd lived together. It was still neat and clean, and I could even smell food cooking.

Clark came out of the kitchen wearing an apron, took my coat, and asked with a smile how school had gone today.

We had dinner, then cuddled up to watch TV. I teased him for still being too scared to look directly at a horror movie.

Then he gave me a massage and ran a bath for me.

I stumbled sleepily out of the bathroom. He was facing the computer, typing up the news article he needed to write. In a gentle voice, he told me to go to bed first and that he would be there soon.

Lying in bed with my eyes closed, I remembered that something was wrong.

1. We hadn't bought or stored any food at home.

2. I'd just been released. I hadn't gone to school today.

3. Knowing how easily he got scared, I never kept horror movies at home.

4. The power was out.

5. Clark was blind. He couldn't see anything.

6. Clark was already dead. I was the one who killed him.

The bedroom door opened. He stepped inside quietly.

He lifted the covers and lay down behind me, wrapping an arm around my waist and kissing the top of my head. As always, he wished me good night.

So...

Who was he?

Theme: Even through escape, shattering, and death, love is always with me.
