#Question: What's it like when the school's top-tier star is your ex-boyfriend?

Xia Zhi: (sweating smiley).

-

Xia Zhi is a film academy student, a sunny, carefree college guy, and a part-time storyteller on a livestream channel for kids.

One day, he discovered a rich “number one fan” had suddenly appeared in his peaceful livestream, showering him with money and gifts without batting an eye.

Xia Zhi looked down at the storybook in his hands, The Little Duckling Looks for His Mommy, and fell silent.

After he accepted the call request, a cool but childish little face appeared onscreen. The “big spender” said “Hello” in a babyish voice.

[? The number one fan is so young]

[He's already tipping streamers at that age]

Xia Zhi told the “big spender,” who clearly had secretly used a parent's card, to hand the phone to an adult. After a while, the camera turned toward a handsome guy who looked half asleep.

The handsome guy squinted at the screen and mumbled groggily, “Damn, it's my trashy ex.”

“...”

The parents in the livestream and Xia Zhi both recognized Bai Yue, the hottest top-tier star around.

Bai Yue was the type who seemed blessed by the heavens: tall, long-legged, handsome, and a star from the moment he debuted. He also came from an exceptionally prominent family.

But he had a short temper and was hard to get along with. His only weakness was his reclusive little nephew, left in his care by his late sister.

-

The next day, Bai Yue's assistant found Xia Zhi and said that Bai Yue's nephew really liked him. They also happened to be inviting him to appear on a variety show featuring celebrities and their kids, and he absolutely had to clarify that Bai Yue had only misspoken in the livestream.

Xia Zhi: “Sorry. A good ex should be as good as dead.”

The assistant had come prepared. They pulled out a limited-edition signed album by the famous international director Bai Qingya.

Xia Zhi fell silent for a moment. “Actually, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to come back to life once in a while.”

And maybe clear up the huge misunderstanding his ex had about him, which was seriously damaging his reputation.

-

Before the livestream, Bai Yue said coldly, “I'm only doing this for my nephew. Don't push your luck.”

During the livestream, everyone watched in shock as Bai Yue obeyed Xia Zhi's every word, all while pretending he didn't care. One little kid even followed him around.

After the livestream, Xia Zhi said, “...Bai Yue, don't block the door. I'm just going to the supermarket.”

1. None of the characters are based on real people. This old author doesn't follow celebrities.

2. The kid is the top's nephew.

Please add my next novel to your collection!

Little Zongzi is a lazy little slacker who takes it easy every day.

Then one day, he had a dream. In it, he lived inside a book, where he was a minor cannon-fodder character, an ordinary kid sent on a show with two celebrity stars.

But he accidentally offended the main character's family, and they were all blacklisted and left homeless. The two older boys from his group also became enemies.

He woke up from the nightmare in a panic, only to find himself on the show for real.

He tried desperately to refuse: “No! I don't wanna be a cannon-fodder!”

Nobody believed him, and the powerless little kid was packed off to the show.

The little slacker decided to change his fate. When he saw the main character's kid with his little face all scrunched up, he quietly started clinging to him.

“Hi! I'm Zong Zong. I was born on the Dragon Boat Festival, and I'm nice and chubby! What's your name?”

“Hold hands~”

“Hugs~”

“Kisses~”

The main character's kid looked at the little thing who clung to him every day and disdainfully pushed up his sunglasses.

Until the kids' variety show ended

The cannon-fodder kid was relieved that they wouldn't see each other again. Not only had he avoided ending up homeless, he'd also brought the two older boys in his group together, even though they were supposed to become sworn enemies after the show. Satisfied, he decided to make his escape.

“Sorry, it was all just a job. Bye-bye.”

Years later, Zong Zong had forgotten all about it. He happily transferred to a new high school, where he went by Ling Pu.

He heard that the school's most famous student was the younger brother of a well-known movie star. He'd appeared on a TV show as a kid, but no one was allowed to bring it up around him.

Ling Pu: Why does that kids' variety show sound familiar?

The next day, he went to the cafeteria and saw a familiar-looking handsome guy impassively pick up a piece of zongzi with his fork. “I said I don't want it. I freaking hate this stuff.”

The guy lifted his cool gaze, and his eyes met Ling Pu's as he walked past.

Ling Pu: “...Hi.”
