The Rich Young Master Caught the Wrong Person

1. Ji Yu had been the apple of his family’s eye since childhood, living in a huge mansion and riding around in fancy cars.

Then a family feud landed his father in prison, and his relatives dumped him in a rundown little town.

The pampered young master Ji had soft skin and no idea how to look after himself. He couldn’t even put a duvet cover on in the middle of winter. At school, he was bullied so badly that he felt he couldn’t go on.

His foster family had an older boy who went to the same school and seemed like the head of a gang. He looked mean, and Ji Yu had heard he might be gay.

Ji Yu decided to use the only thing he had going for him, his looks, to make the older boy his protector.

He timed it so he would be sitting on the stairs when the other boy got home from school. Wearing a troubled expression on his pretty face, he said he’d sprained his ankle.

He asked the other boy for help with his homework, then deliberately undid two buttons to show off his fair collarbone.

The older boy, who looked so hard to approach, simply carried him upstairs and casually fastened his buttons for him.

Lying on Qiao Yandong’s back, Ji Yu said he wanted Michelin-starred desserts. The next day, he got a huge roasted sweet potato.

2. Qiao Yandong was completely absorbed in his studies.

To focus on studying, he had deliberately distanced himself from his wealthy family, which he felt was corrupting him, and moved in with distant relatives in a remote town.

Lately, he’d been dealing with one ridiculous situation after another.

First, he’d been wrongly arrested after stepping in to help someone, then a local thug had held a grudge and spread rumors everywhere that he was gay.

After hearing the rumors, the younger student staying with his family started looking at him strangely and fearfully.

Qiao Yandong tried hard to improve his image. He carried the ankle-sprained Ji Yu upstairs, fastened his buttons so he wouldn’t catch cold, and thoughtfully bought him a sweet potato. He even played along with the boy’s clumsy schemes so as not to hurt his pride.

After taking care of him for a while, he was told there’d been a mistake, and Ji Yu vanished without a trace.

“...”

3. It wasn’t long before the little ingrate came back.

Ji Yu was dressed in a crisp, expensive suit and looked radiant.

He pushed past the crowd of people trying to curry favor with him and went up to Qiao Yandong.

“Um... would you like to marry into a wealthy family?”
