Nian Yuze decides he's the one who can help Bo Xiazhou out of his gloom. With great enthusiasm, he shows up at Bo Xiazhou's house with his little backpack and starts raising him on the spot.

But somehow, Bo Xiazhou only seems to get more helpless. He sticks to Nian Yuze all day long, and at night he's afraid of the dark and needs to cuddle.

Nian Yuze sees it through, staying by his side from kindergarten to elementary school, then middle school, and finally high school.

At school, the cool and handsome Bo Xiazhou is a hugely popular star. He always parts the noisy crowds of onlookers and effortlessly plucks Nian Yuze away from messing around with other people.

After being ignored yet again, Lu Shounan decides to call it quits. But then he sees that the other guy's next scheduled task is to watch his TV drama.

Lu Shounan discovers that Cheng Gui watches every movie and TV series he's in, year after year, and even writes reviews about them.

Later, he sees that Cheng Gui has been sending him private messages for an entire year, greeting him every morning, noon, and night.

Lu Shounan is moved to tears and immediately lets bygones be bygones. He replies.

As he scrolls through thousands upon thousands of greetings, he imagines how excited Cheng Gui must be that his fanboying has paid off.

At exactly noon, he receives a message from him, two lines long.

"Hello. Please don't reply. Thank you."

"Good afternoon ^~^ Brother Shounan, do your best today too!"

Bonus scene

After they get together, Lu Shounan figures out how to deal with Cheng Gui.

That night, Cheng Gui changes into his pajamas, looking refined and handsome. "I've only set aside half an hour. Please finish within that time. Thank you."

Lu Shounan: "Got it."

Half an hour later-

Lu Shounan grins. "Should we stop now?"

Cheng Gui: "..."

No real-life inspirations. This elderly author isn't a celebrity fan.
