The Mastermind Starts by Saving the World

On the second day of the apocalypse, Zhao Guiming lost his memory.

Before him lay the crumbling ruins of a desolate wasteland. It seemed some enormous creature had just fought a battle here. He searched himself from head to toe, and the only clue to his identity was a temporary ID card with a photo, tucked into his pocket.

To remind himself, he wrote down a summary of life's lessons on the back:

1. You can eat food from kitchens and supermarkets as is, but humans don't eat raw meat. If humans are present, don't snatch their food. Remember your manners.

2. Red-eyed crows and cats can be eaten as is, but remember that humans spit out the bones when they eat animals. If the creature is intelligent, be sure to cut off its head.

3. Don't eat the upright creatures wandering the streets. Humans don't eat things that look like themselves. They don't smell very good, but you can order them to find food for you.

4. Don't touch injured humans with your hands. They're fragile and might die. They might also turn into the upright creatures on the street after they wake up.

5. Don't order the upright creatures to stay away from humans while the humans are watching. They'll get scared. Learn how humans behave and imitate their actions. Remember your manners. Humans like good manners.

6. If necessary, you can go hunting with them. There aren't many humans left, and it's difficult to maintain the balance of nature. They might hurt each other, so don't let them go hungry.

7. Humans are more interesting than the creatures wandering the streets, so protect them. And since you have to protect humans, you can also be their savior if necessary.

After that, Zhao Guiming studied each rule, committed every word to memory, and firmly believed: "I am the savior of humanity, so I am human. They will like me, a well-mannered savior."

What should we make of Zhao Guiming?

Some call him a remarkable savior of humanity. Others say he's nothing but a fraud who took advantage of the chaos to build his reputation.

Some condemn Zhao Guiming's cruelty and severity during the apocalypse, while others see him as a hero who led humanity toward hope.

But without a doubt, all of humanity found refuge beneath the wings of this forceful leader, both after the apocalypse began and when civilization as a whole faced crisis.

He led humanity into the stars, spreading his blessings among every race in the universe. The heavens of countless worlds bowed to a single will, and all fear gathered into one voice.

He is a savior, a shadowy mastermind, a benevolent and enlightened leader, and an eternal emperor who rules over an infinite multiverse, eagerly watching his subjects rise again and again in the face of adversity.
