● Completed crime-solving novel: Non-Natural Death, available in my profile
● Plot + romance | Ancient-era crime solving | Soul transmigration | Younger seme
● Sickly, sharp-witted police detective uke VS incompetent but thrill-seeking, unhinged, scheming prince seme
Ting Yuan was an excellent police detective. On his first day at his new post, he came across someone drowning.
With a sense of duty to serve the people, he jumped straight into the river to save them.
Who could have known his calf would suddenly cramp, making him lose his balance and drown as well?
Even more absurdly, when he woke up, he had transmigrated to ancient times.
After trying all kinds of ways to return and failing, he decided to return to his old line of work and solve crimes in the ancient world.
His first task was to turn the tables and punish the villain who had pushed the original owner into the water.
He gathered evidence, filed a formal complaint, and reported the matter to the authorities.
The evidence was conclusive, the verdict delivered in court, and the whole city soon knew of it.
His reputation soared. Whenever an unsolved case cropped up in the surrounding villages, the authorities would invite him to help crack it.
Prince Yu, Bo Jingyu, was touring the realm on the emperor's orders when he was framed and thrown into prison.
His subordinate asked Ting Yuan to help find the real culprit and clear Bo Jingyu's name.
Ting Yuan assumed Prince Yu would reward him with money.
But upon meeting him, the prince's first words were, "I've taken a liking to you."
His second: "You should come with me."
His third: "I guarantee you'll enjoy wealth and glory without end."
As Bo Jingyu looked at him expectantly, Ting Yuan coldly replied with two words: "You pervert."
[Reader's note: Don't blindly buy the whole book. Purchase as you go!]
1. This is an imaginary history, an imaginary history, an imaginary history. It isn't based on any particular dynasty, so please don't research or make comparisons. It's all made up, and every detail serves the plot. Please don't imagine scenes that aren't written, or it may affect your enjoyment.
2. Bo Jingyu appears in Chapter 16, and the main crime-solving plot officially begins in Chapter 30.
3. Many smaller cases are linked to form one large case, so the overall story is quite long. The focus is on the main plot, solving cases, and unraveling mysteries, not only murder cases.
5. The seme pursues and pampers the uke. Both speak their minds, and neither has been with anyone else.
6. This is a long, character-growth story. Neither lead is perfect, and both will gradually grow and change their views as the plot progresses, while still holding to their principles. Readers who expect characters to be flawless should proceed with caution.
7. Purchase as you go. The anti-piracy ratio is 50%. If you can't buy it, that's an anti-piracy issue.
8. I'd like to apologize in advance for the typos in this story. I have severe dyslexia, and I can't focus on text; when I read, I often skip entire lines, so I can only listen to it. When I type, the font is about as large as a mahjong tile. I can only check for typos by reading aloud, and I can't recognize many homophone errors myself. If you spot any mistakes, please help me catch them. I'll correct them as soon as I see them. Thank you, dear readers, for reading.

10. A lot of people have asked, so let me clarify: the ending is happy. From Ting Yuan's perspective, both lifetimes have happy endings. Bo Jingyu has known about Ting Yuan's health from the start, so from his perspective, too, both lifetimes have happy endings. The two of them each live a complete and fulfilled life.
● New upcoming novel: A Journey Through Mountains and Rivers. Blurb below.
In the spring of the seventeenth year of Qingming, a major event shook the Nanzhao Dynasty.
Jun Qian, the Prince of Subei, was accused of plotting rebellion and executed along with his entire family. His son, Jun Moting, vanished without a trace.
The news stunned the entire nation.
Some said Emperor Qingming resented the Prince of Subei's power, while others said the prince had harbored ambitions to seize the throne. Rumors flew through the streets...
·
Xie Qianxing and Jun Moting's fathers were close friends, so the two were betrothed before they were born. No one expected both babies to be boys.
As a child, Xie Qianxing disliked Jun Moting. He didn't want to marry a man and become a wife, the future Princess of Subei.
After his family fell into misfortune, Jun Moting briefly hid in the Xie household.
Back then, Xie Qianxing pitied him and treasured him like the apple of his eye, letting no one lay a finger on him.
Xie Qianxing once swore to Jun Moting, "If you're a rebel, then I'll become a traitorous minister."
·
In the winter of the twenty-second year of Qingming, at Dongshu Gorge.
Xie Qianxing led thirty thousand troops in a bitter fight against the enemy. Their provisions ran out, and neither reinforcements nor supplies arrived.
Jun Moting led three thousand troops on a day-and-night march, driving straight from northern Yu into the heart of Dongshu to rescue Xie Qianxing from his desperate plight.
By the Dongshu River, Jun Moting asked, "Do you still stand by your words? If I become a rebel, you'll become a traitorous minister."
Xie Qianxing stood with his hands behind his back, fists clenched. "I don't."
Jun Moting asked coldly, "No regrets?"
Xie Qianxing gritted his teeth. "No regrets."
Jun Moting returned half of the jade pendant and cut his robe apart with his sword.
"From this day on, our betrothal is over. We sever our ties, and have nothing more to do with each other."
·
The fifty thousand cavalry of the Beimu Dynasty marched south and threatened the border. Xie Qianxing was appointed commander.
The two armies faced each other. Xie Qianxing stood atop the city wall, while Jun Moting sat on horseback at the front of his formation.
Xie Qianxing declared loudly, "Hear me, three hundred thousand soldiers of Nanzhao! Open the gates and welcome Jun Moting, son of the Prince of Subei, home!"
Seven days later, Xie Qianxing led three thousand death-defying soldiers straight for Leyang, the capital of Yandu. Emperor Qingming died at his palace in Leyang.
All that remained was an imperial edict acknowledging that Prince Jun Qian of Subei had been falsely accused of rebellion, and naming his son Jun Moting as his successor.
A month later, the new emperor ascended the throne, stripped Xie Qianxing of his military command, and imprisoned him in the dungeon.
Jun Moting asked him, "Why did you do this?"
Xie Qianxing replied, "You aren't a rebel, so I'll be a traitorous minister."
Someday, when your armies stand at the gates, I will become a traitorous rebel, help you ascend the throne, and protect your peace for the rest of your life. By Xie Qianxing
