Check out my new upcoming novel, The Qing Dynasty: A Gege's Blessings. Click on my author page to read more. Blurb: Fuchang dies by drowning after bravely coming to someone's rescue, then gets a System. The System says it will take her to cultivate immortality, but their plane crashes along the way. The two of them fall into the Great Qing, and the System hastily pops her into the womb of Empress Heseri, the current empress. She becomes an unofficial member of the Imperial Prince Squad. Fuchang cries so hard she wants to die. Which descendant of the land of flowers hasn't dreamed of cultivating immortality? The System can only console her: Since you're here, make the best of it. Its system space contains countless golden finger skills. Just a few of them can make her out to be the most blessed little lucky star in all of heaven and earth. Her father will be the emperor, her younger brother will be the emperor, and even her nephew will be the emperor... She can live out a life of wealth and comfort. Isn't that much more fun than cultivating immortality? * Kangxi discovers that ever since Empress Heseri became pregnant with twins, strange phenomena have been occurring around him. First, strange arrows appear in the sky, guiding him to discover that someone in the harem is plotting against the imperial heirs. Then he suddenly finds he can understand the horses' neighing, and discovers that someone has tampered with a saddle. Warnings of earthquakes keep appearing on memorials and on every piece of furniture and vessel he can see. As the empress's delivery date draws near, he has a month of consecutive nightmares in which she suffers a massive hemorrhage after giving birth and leaves him forever! He asks the elders and the shamans. Their answer is only eight words: "A blessed girl shall enter the royal family." Kangxi immediately falls into deep thought: Relying on a daughter isn't out of the question! * As time goes by, Fuchang increasingly feels she's been cheated. She hasn't seen a single one of the golden fingers the System promised! The System, however, argues back: Didn't you get to live in the Palace of Heavenly Purity? Fuchang: Well, yes. System: Is your imperial mother still alive? Fuchang: Yes. System: The crown prince of the empire has become your lackey. Your younger brother peels enough grapes for you to circle the dining table more than twice. You weren't sent off to marry a Mongolian prince, and your princess mansion is three times bigger than a prince's residence. Everyone under heaven praises you as the blessing of the Great Qing. Tell me, haven't you enjoyed all that wealth and splendor? Fuchang falls silent. Reader's Guide: This story is also known as How Did All My Golden Fingers Stop Working? 1. There are many kinds of golden fingers, and they all take effect on the people around the heroine. 2. Golden fingers are temporary, not permanent. 3. The heroine gets a head start. The crown prince and all the princes below him are younger brothers. 4. Empress Heseri survives, with the beloved and true-love buffs stacked to the max. [Novel Blurb] *Reader's Guide: The opening is difficult. If you want to read about the little ones, you can start from Chapter Five. Ye Fangyu transmigrates into the Great Qing harem as a low-ranking consort. Empress Heseri has only just passed away. The memories remaining in her mind remind her that she is the historical Nara, Consort Hui, mother of the eldest prince, one of the Nine Dragons. Ye Fangyu counts on her fingers. Neither Niu Hulu nor Tong Jia has entered the palace yet. There are only a handful of low-ranking consorts in the entire harem. In the sixteenth year of Kangxi's reign, she'll be made Consort Hui. Four years later, she'll become the foremost of the Four Consorts. It seems she won't need to work very hard to live comfortably for the rest of her life. So... if not lie flat now, when? * Ye Fangyu instinctively wants to lie flat and slack off. But before she can bend her knees, she suddenly remembers that her son from this convenient marriage is one of the Nine Dragons. Thinking of the historical fate of Consort Hui and the eldest prince, Ye Fangyu reflects: It seems she'll have to get her son to lie flat alongside her. And so, she happily lies flat for two months. With a round, chubby baby cuddled in her arms. Then a palace servant suddenly comes to report that the emperor has selected her nameplate and wants her to leave her door open that night. Ye Fangyu: ... This is ridiculous. Who wants that? So when Kangxi shows up in the middle of the night, Ye Fangyu takes him by the hand and starts discussing just how much staying up late damages one's health. The next day, Kangxi, who is fond of health and wellness, considers her his lifelong kindred spirit. From then on, the Palace of Extended Happiness is never without red dates and goji berries. Even the Grand Empress Dowager comes to ask her: Can soaking goji berries in a thermos really prolong your life? * Ye Fangyu used to be a night owl who wouldn't go to bed before three if she hadn't scrolled on her phone. Later, she becomes the best health expert in the Forbidden City. Later still, Kangxi sees how good she is at wellness and decides she must be just as good at raising children. The next day, he dumps the little crown prince, Yinreng, on her... From then on, the Palace of Extended Happiness somehow becomes the Royal Kindergarten. Thanks to Ye Fangyu's efforts, every child in the Royal Kindergarten grows up plump and rosy-cheeked. Once they're grown, their first challenge is figuring out how to lose weight. Otherwise, they can't get a wife. And after going through the hardship of losing weight together, all the little ones get along wonderfully. They especially want nothing to do with the seat beneath Kangxi's backside. To help his old dad Kangxi live longer, the crown prince secretly sets fire to the palace's selection tablets. The firewood is brought from the imperial kitchen by Yin Ti, the sparks are supplied by Yin Zhi, and Yin Zhen lights the fire himself. Ye Fangyu's only role is to stand by and "inspire a hall full of filial piety"! Content Warnings: 1. A difficult start, then lying flat later on, with a golden finger. 2. The golden finger mainly affects Kangxi and has to do with dreams and health. The heroine doesn't know about it at first. 3. There are some palace intrigue scenes, but not many. 4. The heroine won't have any more children of her own, but she will raise many children. [PS: The crown prince takes the throne.] 5. This is an alternate-history Qing dynasty transmigration story. The timeline may differ, so please don't nitpick the historical details. Thank you! [Cover by artist ANW! Many thanks!
