I, the Emperor, Hold Candles with My Powerful Minister

[Provisional Blurb]

Xu Zhisheng had spent his whole life as a prince who followed every rule, and had only ever done one thing out of line.

He fell in love with Xiao Shengqian, the heir to a prince's title. For him, he was willing to trade away the throne and the empire.

But in the end, the Crown Prince was imprisoned deep within the palace.

The heir was forced to die in battle, and even as he died, he refused to close his eyes, staring fixedly toward the imperial palace.

When news of his death arrived, the beast Xu Zhisheng had kept suppressed finally broke free. He went mad, plunging the world that had taken his beloved from him into chaos. He launched a rebellion and killed the emperor, then took his own life on the imperial throne.

When he opened his eyes again, Xu Zhisheng was back at the banquet where he had first met the heir. The heir, newly arrived in the capital, came riding up on horseback, plucked a flower, and offered it to him.
