Shen Langyu transmigrated into a novel about a man chasing his wife after losing her. She became the hapless heroine who was physically and emotionally abused by the male lead, had her country destroyed, was abducted and kept as a canary, and, thanks to her own kindness, forgave him with a broken heart after he tearfully apologized in a fit of remorse, then ended up with him.
System: The male lead hurt the heroine because his childhood trauma left him unable to love. You must care for him, comfort him, and redeem him until you become the light of his life...
Shen Langyu: Tell me exactly what I need to do.
System: Accept it when he abuses you. Forgive him with all your heart when he destroys your country. Weep but stay by his side when he cheats on you. In the end, you'll win his heart and make him fall deeply in love with you. Got it?
Shen Langyu: Got it.
The System thought she was a promising prospect. It slacked off and played cards with other systems for six months before coming back to check on her. Its eyes widened in shock.
The male lead calmly accepted being abused by Shen Langyu hundreds and thousands of times. When Shen Langyu destroyed his country, he forgave her with all his heart. When she slept with his subject, he wept but stayed by her side. Then, heartbroken, he ran away, waiting for Shen Langyu to chase him through fire and water.
System: ?
System: What are you doing? Where's my ruthless male lead? What the heck is going on?
At that moment, dark clouds loomed over the city. Shen Langyu sat atop a tall horse, with a million-strong army standing in silence behind her. She gave a wave of her hand, and a rain of arrows flew. The capital's gates crashed down before the System, sending dust billowing three thousand feet into the air. The male lead's head rolled across the ground.
Standing amid the chaos of battle, Shen Langyu smiled nonchalantly. "Sorry, I switched male leads."
* The heroine sets out to conquer the world.
* Things go against her from the start, and she turns the tide bit by bit. She won't be racking up victories all at once.
* The male lead is not the original novel's male lead, so think of the original male lead as a political enemy. The heroine's ability to torment him is her own skill, and so is her ability to kill him.
* The male lead serves the original male lead. He's a loyal young general, full of verve and spirit.
One-on-one romance.
The male lead is inexperienced.
Theme: Turn the tide against the odds, and enjoy every step of the comeback.
