The Madman in the Mirror

When the person in the mirror is no longer you, that's when the story begins.

Jing Ran is the sort who likes to stir up trouble everywhere, then run off once the flames are lit. But if you keep hanging around the river, sooner or later you'll get your shoes wet. The clan's youngest and most twisted young lord takes a liking to him, wanting him to be the young lord's cutest little dog... or playmate. Jing Ran poisons him overnight. The dog survives, but the young lord dies. Jing Ran begins his life on the run. Living day after day on the edge of death is bound to wear you down eventually. One day, after taking a shower, Jing Ran notices that the reflection in the full-length mirror seems to have gotten a lot thinner. Feeling a little sorry for himself, he reaches out toward the mirror...

"Finally remembered me? You little brat. You still haven't taken enough beatings, or you'd have come to Daddy for help. You deserve to get beaten black and blue!"

"Who are you? Why are you in my mirror?!"

"I'm you. The you in the mirror."

"Nonsense. How could I be this skinny? You're making things up!"

"Heh. Jing Ran, this is a magnifying mirror. It's normal for there to be a difference."

"If that's true, shouldn't it make things bigger? Why does it look smaller?"

"What are you talking about? Jing Ran, the one in the mirror right now is you! Hahaha, you keep the peace in the mirror world, and I'll help you deal with these scumbags. How's that?"

Gentle, scheming seme x murderous seme.
