After the Twin Husbands Swapped Lives

[To keep things harmonious, the marriage swap has been changed to take place before the wedding. Here's the revised synopsis.]

The Lu family was poor in the early years and sent one of their children away.

Eighteen years later, both brothers are old enough to be matched for marriage.

The older brother is forceful by nature, and the hunter he's been matched with is just as hard-headed. They clash at their first meeting, pounding the table and glaring at each other. They nearly come to blows over who will be in charge after the wedding.

He thinks, “If only I could call off this engagement.”

The younger brother is gentle and mild, and the scholar he's been matched with comes from a family notorious for being pushovers, surrounded by a pack of wolf-like relatives. Just one look from afar terrifies him.

He sighs, “If only I could call off this engagement.”

By chance, the brothers meet and decide to swap their engagements.

The older brother puts on his wedding clothes and enters the scholar's home.

On their wedding day, he runs into a rowdy wedding prank. The frail scholar clumsily tries to protect him and gets shoved into a wall, hitting his head.

Older brother: ???

He's supposed to sit the top imperial exam. What are you doing?

The younger brother covers his head with a veil and enters the hunter's home.

On their wedding night, he waits shyly and obediently for them to consummate the marriage. But the hunter gives him a cold, scornful look. “Stop pretending.”

The words have barely left his mouth when the young husband tears up. “We just got married. Why are you treating me like this?”

Hunter: ???

Is something wrong with you?

Everyone knows the Xie family can't stand up for themselves. They're all so soft that anyone can come along and step on them.

Even people with no grudge against them will spit in front of their house when they're in a bad mood.

From this day on, no one dares.

Xie Yan's husband will beat you up!

Meanwhile, the Li family, whom everyone expected to fight until they broke up, now has hot food waiting at home every day.

Someone wonders whether their fiery-tempered husband has been beaten to death.

They sneak over to take a look and find Li Feng gently soothing him. “I was wrong. Don't cry...”

Two couples:

Older brother's couple: a forceful, fiercely protective partner x a gloomy top student

Younger brother's couple: a gentle, obedient sweetheart x a tough man with a tender heart

My next novel will be The Young Husband of the General's Household. Please add it to your collection!

Before the wedding, Yu Sheng is very unhappy with his future husband.

He's a mere soldier, tall and fierce-looking, always wearing a scowl and looking utterly terrifying.

One day, Yu Sheng sees him catch a thief in the street. With one powerful kick, he sends the petty criminal flying several meters. The man twitches twice and passes out.

Yu Sheng bursts into tears on the spot.

He thinks, I'd rather die than marry Bian He.

-

Bian He doesn't like his future husband either.

He's skinny, delicate, and fair, and cries all the time.

A pretty, pampered young man like that is the sort he could knock out three at a time.

He thinks, If I marry someone like him, the rest of my life will be a nightmare.

-

On their wedding day, Bian He lifts the red veil and sees two big, hot tears rolling down Yu Sheng's almond-shaped eyes.

His face is peach blossom bright, his eyes rippling like autumn water.

And, though he's both timid and brave, he orders him, “Y-you have to be gentle!”

Bian He's gaze darkens as he leans down to kiss him.

“...All right.”

-

The delicate young man of the Yu family marries the bravest young general in the dynasty.

Nobody thinks they'll make it, and one betting pool is even set up by people who love to watch the drama, wagering that they'll separate within three years.

What a ridiculous insult!

That very night, Yu Sheng puts on a hood and covers his face, planning to bet that they'll be divorced within three days!

But before he can get started, he runs into Bian He, who is also in disguise, in the back courtyard of the gambling house.

Their eyes meet. Desperate to save himself, Yu Sheng turns the tables: “You want to divorce me?”

Then Bian He leads him to bet all his hidden savings on “stay together.”

From now on, one thin betting slip is all he owns.

Three years later, the couple's children are all plump and rosy, and they've long forgotten their early marital drama.

When the gambling house pays out, there are only two winners.

The whole city is watching, wondering who had such a sharp eye.

Yu Sheng flashes his little tiger teeth. Beside him stands Bian He, still looking fierce as ever. Yu Sheng slaps two old betting slips on the table.

“We're here to collect!”
