The Young Master’s Everyday Life in the Market

The first time Wen Xueshi set up a stall to sell tofu, he rescued a man on the street.

The neighbors told him the man was Shi Qianshan, a notorious local tough.

He was done for. From now on, the thug would be all over him.

Maybe the thug would even drag him home to be his husband!

Wen Xueshi was so scared he hid at home and didn't dare go out.

A month passed without incident, so he went back to selling tofu.

From that day on, strange things kept happening.

He got a good spot for his stall, someone helped carry his load, people clamored to buy his tofu, and even the proprietors of large shops competed to bring him gifts. Shopkeeper Zhao gave him clothes and fabric. Shopkeeper Qian brought rice, flour, meat, and eggs. Shopkeeper Sun gave him a donkey. Shopkeeper Li brought a matchmaker and asked what he wanted in a partner, promising to find him a fine husband.

There were plenty of suitors who came to recommend themselves. Some came from wealthy families, others were handsome... He turned them all down, and in the end chose Shi Qianshan, the local tough.

Everyone was in an uproar, saying he'd lost his mind. He had a good life, yet he was choosing to make things hard for himself.

Wen Xueshi got married.

Shi Qianshan wasn't a thug. He wasn't that bad.

Shi Qianshan was a rascal who always said embarrassing things and loved kissing him.

From the attacking lead's perspective:

Shi Qianshan was set up by his brothers and nearly died. After a brush with death, he decided to turn over a new leaf and repay his debt of gratitude.

As he kept repaying that debt, he ended up delivering himself to Wen Xueshi and asking, "Would you accept me as your husband?"
