A Guide to Playing Both Sides with Secret Identities

Come check out my upcoming story next door! Give this one a look! This novel will be published on March 5, with Chapter 24 as the first paid chapter. There will be a 10,000-character update that day. Important: Updates go up every evening between six and nine, no later than nine sharp. I'll take a day off if something comes up. Blurb: Hello, everyone. I'm He Zequan. I'm seventeen, and right now I'm working hard to save up points and carefully draw cards. Don't ask. The System is just that awful. Here's what happened. A year ago, I was forced to bind myself to a secret identity System and brought to this world. It seemed like something straight out of a shonen manga. I thought, I guess I'm going to save the world. That's a high schooler's privilege, after all... But I'm a notoriously unlucky player. Sitting on the toilet, I used up all the luck I'd accumulated in my life and drew a start so hellish it made my eyes pop out of my head. All right, my first secret identity: a mole in the liquor syndicate, code name Granville. I'm eating dessert right in front of Gin, the organization's top killer, as he gives me a suspicious look. That's nothing. My second secret identity is an unlucky seventeen-year-old detective. I was just hit in the neck with a cold anesthetic needle, and before I even passed out, I heard my own voice coming from behind me... My third secret identity is a bona fide liquor syndicate member, a troublemaker whose goal is to take down the boss. My fourth secret identity is a rising star in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. My boss is a big guy who likes to wear sunglasses. Ever since I met him, every mafia boss in every novel has had a face. Ah... it's time to draw cards again. Please, can't this ten-pull give me anything but a red card? P.S. Red card ≠ secret identity card, but secret identity card ≈ red card. Let the kid take a break! Even milk can't soothe the pain of losing my hair! Warnings: 1. Includes melodramatic plotlines. 2. Villain secret identities will have their cards torn up. 3. The author's logic is chaotic. Friendly discussion is welcome, but no trolling or insults. Please be patient with this newbie, and let's all be civilized. 4. This is basically a silly story about putting the characters through the wringer. The author writes sweet romances! (I'm very serious.) Upcoming story: I Drew a Tragic Beauty Character by Qiziqi Ling Ren was bound to a card-drawing System and told to play the character he drew. He hadn't been confident to begin with, and now he was worried sick. And besides... Looking at the cards in the pool, all featuring characters burdened with debuffs like blindness, lameness, muteness, and social withdrawal, Ling Ren fell silent. This was practically hell-level difficulty! How was he supposed to survive? There was no choice. If he wanted to stay alive, he'd have to make do with what he got. And so... At a certain Tokyo sorcerer school, the white-haired teacher, who had lost his sight, was stopped and questioned by the current Six Eyes. “What do you mean? I'm an excellent teacher, with students everywhere, and I'm devoted to educating them.” In Yokohama, the mute detective stared in confusion with his green eyes. [I'm not a detective], he wrote on a piece of paper. In the battle between the black and the red, the lame blonde Public Security agent silently wiped a coffee cup. His scarred fingers brushed the white porcelain. “...I'm just a café waiter.” After successfully playing his roles, Ling Ren left, completely unaware of just how absurd an experience his arrival had given everyone... Whenever they got close to him, they saw images of parallel worlds. They lost everything. They were plunged into despair. All they had left were broken bodies. Of course, it would be nice if there were fewer strange crack ships. No CP. “Your love is so much like mine; our wounds are in the same place.” Theme: No matter how dark things get, there's always a turn in the road and light at the end of the tunnel.
