Main story complete:
With a five-minute countdown to his death hanging over him, Gu Yang could barely accept the fact that he had transmigrated from the apocalypse to the interstellar age, was being livestreamed to the entire insect race, and had landed badly injured on a remote barren planet.
Yeah, his debuffs were maxed out.
System: You're welcome.
Only when the comments filled with the word "male insect" did Gu Yang realize: Oh, I changed species, too.
To stay alive until the rescue promised in the comments arrived, Gu Yang drew on the fine traditions of an apocalypse soldier and fought tooth and nail to survive. But the comments reacted as if they were horribly shocked.
Gu Yang goes hunting...
Comments: Aaaaaah, our baby, you poor thing! Those damn insect traffickers! How could a male insect be made to do this?
Gu Yang bandages his wounds...
Comments: How dare they hurt a male insect! That must hurt so much, baby, come here for a kiss.
Gu Yang undergoes a second evolution...
Comments: ?!!! Wings!! Male insects can grow wings too? That's insane! Is this psychic power made manifest?! Has he reverted to his ancestral form?
Gu Yang kills a mutant beast...
Comments: Now that's a true male prince! A fully evolved male prince!
Kanes, the Imperial General assigned to rescue the young male insect stranded on the barren planet, had no hope for this mission. Most male insects in the Empire were delicate; they could even die of depression if they were in a bad mood. A wounded young male insect in an environment like that barren planet... He'd be lucky to make it through the night.
Then, as the Huberian docked, the other person looked up at him. He casually tucked a dagger into his thigh strap. The flames swirling around him gradually receded, and gauzy wings fell gently to the ground like a cape.
"Are you the 'great captain of the Huberian'?"
As he spoke, he burst into laughter.
Hearing his laughter, the great captain of the Huberian, who received daily reports on the warship's progress from him, couldn't help smiling.
At first, he had only hoped the young male insect would hold on long enough to keep the Empire from losing a male insect with limitless potential. But now he thought: No wonder everyone adores male princes so much... Perhaps this one deserves it.
2.
Gu Yang thinks the interstellar age is even worse than the apocalypse. Natural plants are nearly extinct here, and even more delicate than the Empire's male insects. Food is scarce, and nutritional supplements are everywhere.
Gu Yang: Blegh!
Even Chinese herbal medicine doesn't taste this awful!
The farming spirit buried deep in his bones stirs. Tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, cucumbers... One by one, he grows precious plants from antiquity. In no time, the "Your Highness" in the livestream comments have all become "Your Majesty."
Gu Yang: Kanes, come back and cook!
The general immediately wipes the sulky look off his face and turns off the livestream screen in front of him.
Braised chicken or boiled fish for lunch?
He still hasn't quite mastered the new recipes...
1. Traditional insect-race setting.
2. For personal reasons, I won't replace the word "person" with "insect."
3. I'm not a bottom stan or a top stan. I don't recommend arguing over a web novel. It isn't worth it.
4. There are quite a few comments, so be warned if that bothers you.

Lan De transmigrates into an insect-race novel as a tyrannical, unpredictable cannon-fodder male insect. The cannon fodder torments the protagonist, both body and soul, and forces him to rebel against the Empire and raise the banner of revolt.
Three months later, the protagonist will storm the Empire's central star, personally torture the cannon fodder to death, and avenge himself.
The comments are full of cheers and sympathy.
If he were a reader, he'd find it satisfying too.
But now he's the cannon fodder, and it's so unfair. Lan De thinks, Thanks for asking, but he faints at the sight of blood.
He drops the whip in his hand and argues with the System, which is forcing him to follow the plot, for half an hour before finally agreeing... He'll follow the plot, as long as nobody else can tell.
Akalaia kneels in the basement, listening to the thoughts of the male insect before him as he argues with that electronic voice. He silently slips the dagger in his sleeve away.
"Beep. Plot point: The mastermind orders Akalaia to be whipped."
Akalaia clenches his fists, but sees the male insect take out a pile of cosmetics.
"Leave it to me. What a great back. A battle-worn look will be easy to do."
"Beep beep. The Host must remove Akalaia's wings."
Akalaia prepares to escape, but sees the male insect take out a pair of realistic fake wings.
"A black-winged butterfly, huh? Look at these details. Hope nobody notices."
Akalaia lowers his head.
Half a month passes quickly. His comrades rescue him, and when the rebels take over the palace, Akalaia sees the male insect he hasn't seen in ages once again.
As a notorious example, he is chained to a public pillory in the square, meant to intimidate male insects who refuse to obey.
When the other person sees Akalaia, he smiles faintly, earning a merciless lash from the guard.
Akalaia's heart lurches, and he takes a step forward.
"Time's up, System. Send me back."
He hears Lan De say.
"Fallen leaves... return to their roots."
"I have to go home, too."
Even if he can no longer go back, he won't stay here and bear someone else's sins.
That same year, the Federation's new chief councilor becomes obsessed, mobilizing the entire nation to search for a blue planet called... Earth.
Three years later, on a remote, low-tier planet in the insect race's territory, someone secretly starts a drawing livestream. The tone of their voice lets the sleepless chief councilor finally drift off peacefully.
