90-Year-Old Genius Simulator

Lin Yueru logged into the game "Life Simulator."

An extremely lucky start: she drew four top-tier talents right from the start:

[Peerless Beauty] [Genius-level Intelligence] [Martial Arts Prodigy] [Voice Like an Angel]

The bad news: she was 90 years old when the game began.

The game turned into a "Life-Raising Simulator." Every time she raised a granddaughter to adulthood, she would become 18 years younger and regain a corresponding talent.

Lin Yueru counted on her fingers. If she raised four granddaughters, she could return to being eighteen!

Lin Yueru got right to it!

[Age 90: You encounter an eight-year-old orphan who is abused by her relatives and forbidden to attend school, and adopt her.]

[The orphan is determined to study, so you enroll her in the best elementary school in the city. But she can't fit in, and is forced to leave.]

[Fortunately, your pension is generous, so you hire private tutors at great expense and arrange beginner courses: "Chinese," "Math," and "English."]

[One year later, progress in the beginner courses "Chinese," "Math," and "English" reaches 100%. Advanced courses are now available, including "Geography," "Physics," and "Chemistry"...]

[Age 100: The orphan turns 18 and gets into a top national university.]

Lin Yueru regains the talent [Genius-level Intelligence]. After leaving her eldest granddaughter a sum of money, she successfully fakes her death and instantly returns to age 72.

[Age 72: You witness a murder scene. Of a family of three, only the younger daughter survives, and you decide to adopt her.]

[The younger girl is traumatized and wants to learn martial arts, determined to track down her parents' killer. But her constitution is too weak, and she is repeatedly discouraged from pursuing it.]

[You arrange beginner courses for her: "Eight Brocades," "Meditation," "Tai Chi"...]

[Age 82: The younger girl turns 18 and gets into the capital's police academy.]

Lin Yueru regains the talent [Martial Arts Prodigy] and fakes her death to get away.

And then...

A granddaughter with a beautiful face, treated as a tool for making money...

A granddaughter with a lovely singing voice, with nowhere to use it...

After raising all four granddaughters, Lin Yueru returns to the age of 18 with four top-tier talents.

At last, her own genius-raising simulator begins.

By then, Lin Yueru's first adopted granddaughter is nearly sixty and has become a famous research scientist across the country.

Then Lin Yueru sees a news report that her eldest granddaughter is critically ill.

She wants to see her granddaughter one last time, but the family coldly turns her away.

They ask who she is, but Lin Yueru stammers and can't answer.

At the height of her despair, a few familiar voices suddenly sound behind her:

"Grandma?"

Reading Guide:

1. A random idea that popped into my head after playing a daughter-raising game.

2. The granddaughters will have lovely romance arcs and couples (though if they can't date before turning eighteen, there won't be much to write). I'm also bad at writing romance, so this is mainly a plot-driven story.

3. All the granddaughters live in the same world, as does Grandma. Faking her death means escaping by pretending to die, then instantly becoming 18 years younger, so the granddaughters generally don't figure it out. There will still be some identity reveals, though. It'd be perfect if the granddaughters all lived with Grandma.

4. The course and daily-life stat-building system takes inspiration from "Daughter of the Volcano," "Chinese Parents," and "Princess Maker," so it'll feel fairly game-like.
