Can I Call You Wife?

Durian mille-crepe flavor | A wooden, men-fearing heroine × a gorgeous male ghost | Niche premise, please read the content warnings first

Ruan Shiyi has suffered from an extreme fear of men since childhood. She went to girls' schools whenever possible, and even chose a publishing editor job where she'd have more contact with women.

New to the industry, little editor Ruan Shiyi recently received another assignment from her boss: sign a deal with the newly famous literary sensation Zeus for his latest bestselling novel.

Nervous because she didn't know whether the author was a man or a woman, Ruan Shiyi set out to charm the elusive, hugely popular writer.

After adding him on WeChat, Ruan Shiyi scoured his Moments and discovered that Zeus was drop-dead gorgeous! He was a beautiful “older sister”!

So she started making outrageous comments to him online, calling him “wife” and “sis” at every turn.

After chatting online for ages, the two finally arranged to meet and talk about signing a contract.

At a coffee shop.

They sat facing each other and gazed at one another for a long time. The first thing he said was in the same warm, gentle voice as always, but...

It was unmistakably a man's voice!!!!

Looking at the flawless face before her, Ruan Shiyi's brain short-circuited. “...Can I still call you my wife?”

Even after Lu Yuanshi's identity as a man was revealed, he kept looking after her, giving in to her every whim and granting all her requests.

Though Ruan Shiyi couldn't bear to part with that beautiful face, she still made the painful decision to keep her distance. She told him earnestly, “I'm sorry. I don't think it's right to keep treating you like my wife. We should stop.”

Lu Yuanshi smiled at her gently. “All right.”

He told her that as long as she was happy, that was all that mattered.

Not long after they began keeping their distance, the entire internet started wondering where Zeus had gone. His novel had been on hiatus for ten days, and he hadn't even posted a notice!

Unable to stop worrying, Ruan Shiyi knocked on his door.

A few minutes later, Lu Yuanshi's pale, fragile, but still beautiful face appeared before her. Then he collapsed weakly into her arms.

Ruan Shiyi touched his burning forehead, felt his hot breath against her, and heard him say:

“Forget being your wife. How about being your servant?”

[Reader's note] Durian mille-crepe: People who love it really love it. Those who don't hold their noses and run.

1. Everything that may appeal or put you off is in the blurb. Both leads are sexually inexperienced.

2. Niche kink. The heroine finds the hero adorable, and the hero beautiful. This is a straight romance, not a gender-reversed one!!!!

Please note: The hero wears women's clothes and makeup, though he occasionally wears men's clothes too. He is free to wear whatever he likes. He's a beautiful male ghost, so gorgeous that his gender is hard to tell. He likes dressing the heroine up.

The heroine calls the hero “wife” and “sis” as a bit of couple's roleplay. Some of the tastes in this story are extremely unusual, so readers with more conventional tastes should give it a pass. Don't ask why the author and readers have such strange tastes: we just love this stuff~
