My political intrigue novel, The Sickly Beauty Chancellor's Heart's Blood, is now available [launched on November 18, 2022]. Please check it out in my profile. Important: Read the blurb before reading the novel!
[Complete, ready to binge]
80% of the novel is locked behind anti-piracy protection, with a 12-hour delay. I'll adjust this once there are more chapters. I usually update in the evenings, so if you haven't purchased enough chapters, just get some sleep and you'll be able to read them when you wake up. Thanks for supporting the original.
The emperor of the Great Jing Dynasty had plenty of civil and military officials who were both brilliant and capable, especially the six loyal ministers led by Wan Hengyi. But the waters were too deep. Even the emperor, old as he was, couldn't keep his grip on the throne, and the country fell in an instant.
The new emperor seized the throne and immediately changed the dynasty's name to Shun, hinting to the old ministers that those who obeyed him would prosper, while those who opposed him would perish.
The strategists and generals felt humiliated. Some died for their country, while others fled and were killed. Yet the loyal ministers of the old dynasty were left alone, and all six were even reinstated to their former posts.
Wan Hengyi, who had thought he was doomed to die: ?? Starting today, we're the Power-Hungry Ministers' Group! What's our motto?
The five power-hungry ministers: Restore the dynasty! Restore the dynasty! Restore the dynasty!
Wan Hengyi, Grand Secretary of the Cabinet, immediately bowed before the new emperor. "The change of dynasties is Heaven's will. I volunteer to help Your Majesty establish your reign, and pledge my humble service to you."
The Grand Secretary's advisor, the Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, the Dragon and Tiger General, the Deputy Grand Secretary, and the Chief Commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard nodded vigorously. "Same here! We'll do whatever Your Majesty says! Lord Wan... I mean, whatever Your Majesty says is right!"
The new emperor was always quite pleased, but as time went on, things started to feel more and more wrong. Until one day...
Outside the Hall of Heavenly Mandate, the Eastern and Western Intelligence Agencies knelt at the front in indigo embroidered uniforms. On either side stood the Embroidered Uniform Guards, clad in flying-fish robes and holding embroidered spring sabers. At the rear, civil and military officials in crane-and-tiger court robes stood holding their official tablets, all waiting for Wan Hengyi to speak.
Wan Hengyi strode into the Hall of Heavenly Mandate, followed by his five lackeys. The moment they entered, one of them kicked the new emperor off the dragon throne.
The new emperor stared in total confusion. "My dear ministers, what the heck is going on?"
Wan Hengyi: "From today onward, this dynasty bears the surname Jing."
"History will call us treacherous ministers, but how could people in later generations know that we were loyal to the old dynasty?"
"I have ten cups of wine. Five are for the powerful ministers, two for the loyal souls, and two for the land... The last cup, I'll pour onto the ground, so the fallen emperor can smell it. He wouldn't dare drink my wine, and he doesn't deserve to."
A few things to know before reading:
1. This is a standard no-romance story, pure political intrigue, 24-karat gold.
2. It's set in an alternate Ming Dynasty, with heaps of original worldbuilding. Please don't nitpick the history. The characters' official positions in the blurb are their starting positions when the story begins. Their roles may change later according to the plot, and are absolutely not fixed.
3. This is an ensemble story. The writing focuses on the leader, Wan Hengyi, while the other five share the spotlight. Expect some angst.
4. My writing skills are still limited, so please forgive me if anything falls short.
5. Wan Hengyi is a scheming, ethereal beauty, a crazed and sickly beauty with skin like ice and bones like jade.
6. The blurb has been screenshotted and filed, with both its content and date recorded. Thanks for your support. The original idea dates to October 24, 2021.
This novel entered VIP serialization on February 8, 2022. Anyone who reposted it, please take it down. Thank you very much.
All versions of the blurb have been screenshotted and filed, and I have kept a copy for myself. The date and content of every version are recorded. Reposting is prohibited.

My dears, a quick ad break! Take a look at the novels in my profile!
(And to say it loudly: the three novels in the Power-Hungry Ministers series have the same original cast as this one. I'm working hard to build up a stockpile of chapters, hehe.)
Theme: Promote Chinese culture.
The thing is like this, I remember all the bug-catching you guys have done. When I finish the book and revise it again, I'm afraid there will be some treasures that haven't been refreshed. The modification record will override the update record, which will affect the reading of the article, boop~
Will you still write stories about the six of them?
The ending was so sudden, but the ending was a blur.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, give me this article! I took a sneak peek... I couldn't help but look, but I don't have time now... (Pain Mask)
Oh my God! I've been saving up to finish it. I've been so busy lately (┯_┯). I'll watch it this weekend!!
The ending felt a bit hasty. Back hand
Finished with flowers (?ω? )
? I just wanted to stock up on chapters. Will I finish the next chapter? Already finished spreading flowers? ┌(.Д.)┐
I checked the article, and those who have purchased it don't need to worry. The main modifications are to the names of physical objects such as clothes and houses. I checked the information today and found that there are issues with dynasty differences in some names in the article. I will change it as soon as possible. Thank you everyone~
It feels like you have to sharpen the knife in the end. I feel like you can be more detailed.
