If you asked what a short-lived person looks like to an immortal, it would be the masters of the Four Seasons Paradise looking at Ren Feiling, their disciple of ten thousand years.
Everyone in the sect apart from Ren Feiling has a fixed lifespan.
Even Ren Feiling has almost forgotten how many springs, summers, autumns, and winters have passed. How many fellow disciples and masters have been buried in the earth beyond the bamboo grove of the Four Seasons Paradise?
No one can get Ren Feiling talking. He's cold and distant, and no one knows where he came from. Day after day, year after year, Ren Feiling remains a man of few words.
That is, until the Heavenly Court appoints a new master, Su Yunshu, to the Four Seasons Paradise. Su Yunshu has a head of shimmering white hair, lovely eyes and soft lips, and beauty fit for a celestial. His body is frail, and he is often bedridden with persistent stomach pain. Ren Feiling acts completely out of character, moving into Su Yunshu's room and personally attending to him day and night. He gently rubs his stomach, brings him water and food, and takes care of every little detail.
Su Yunshu is often ill in bed. In a feverish haze, he cups Ren Feiling's face in his slender hands and says softly, "Feiling, you remind me of someone I once knew. I loved him."
Ren Feiling simply smiles fondly and coaxes his master to go back to sleep.

In all these centuries, Ren Feiling has only ever shown his love to one person: Su Yunshu, a hundred years ago. This is Su Yunshu's third reincarnation, and the third time Ren Feiling has loved him.
Ren Feiling and Su Yunshu are both gods from the heavens. Punished for secretly pledging themselves to each other, they were cast down to the mortal world. One is immortal, while the other is short-lived. Su Yunshu often suffers the pain of illness and death, while Ren Feiling must bear not only the pain of losing his beloved, but also the loneliness.
The Heavenly Court has made its offer: if Ren Feiling and Su Yunshu agree to part, they can return to their former posts and resume their places among the immortals.
Neither Ren Feiling nor Su Yunshu will yield. They would rather be banished from heaven and made mortal, even if they can only love each other for a hundred years at a time.
But this time, the Heavenly Court issues an edict, and they change their minds. Since the two gods refuse to give in, the court will strip Su Yunshu of his divinity. Once he dies, he will never reincarnate again. He will never return to Ren Feiling with white hair. Su Yunshu will vanish forever.
Ren Feiling's eyes turn red. He is going to storm the Heavenly Court and change his beloved's fate. On the day he is to face the heavenly thunder tribulation, Su Yunshu hurries over through the rain. He coughs again, blood bright at the corner of his lips, and wraps his arms around Ren Feiling's waist.
"I'm going with you, Feiling. We've already suffered through so many reincarnations and hardships. We might as well get an answer, even if we die together. If you leave me behind to live on, or I leave you behind, the pain will only drag on. Today, we'll settle this with them once and for all."
#Clouds drift and winds rise. Whenever I see the clouds in the sky, I think of you.
A frail, gentle, white-haired beauty of a master x his older, wolfish disciple. Looking incredibly good is a given. The disciple is older, and Ren Feiling never ages or dies, making him several hundred years older than Su Yunshu.
