A Cyberpunk Narcissus Story

Fifty years have passed since the disappearance of a genius hacker and cyberterrorist into the deep web.

For the past fifty years, humanity's activities have been confined within towering walls. The consciousnesses of countless corporate agents, meanwhile, have wailed and drifted beyond them. Some say the walls were built not to keep out the unknown or prevent accidents, but simply because of one person: the hacker who abandoned his own body and disappeared.

Fifty years later, a genius hacker appears out of nowhere and cracks xxxx for a corporation. A feature-length article in xx magazine hails him as the greatest genius of the new era. The next day, xx explodes, the company's secrets are stolen, and the hacker defects. His body is found in a cooling pod, with these words on the computer screen: xx has been uploaded to the cloud.

The protagonist is born as a clone of the genius hacker. A mega-corporation fabricates a childhood and adolescence for him, all to recreate a miracle and wield the sharpest, most loyal sword.

On the outside of the walls, the moment the protagonist logs in, an invisible pressure forces him to the ground. Looking at the ill-tempered figure approaching, the protagonist says coldly:

"Do you want to keep being a rat outside the walls, or break through them with me?"

"Your mouth stinks like a sewer." The other person curls their lip.

"Just like yours," the protagonist says.

(It's probably a selfcest love story.)
