The police officers: "Have you heard? The SAT and First Investigative Division have run into a ton of copycat vampire crimes lately. The higher-ups are furious. They've set up a special task force to hunt down every last 'vampire.'" Yuli, the hungry vampire and SAT captain: "..." To save her colleagues and herself, she decided to quit immediately! But things didn't go as planned. One after another, her troublesome subordinates died in the line of duty in her dreams. Yuli: "What do you mean, it was a dream? It's all happening for real! I'll quit after I save everyone!" (She snatched back the resignation letter she'd just handed in.) Then she saved one person, two, three, four... Yuli: "I'll quit after I save this one!" But as the investigation grew more complicated and the truth harder to see, her resignation kept getting postponed. She was even forced to work overtime at the liquor distillery again. Worse still, her curly-haired subordinate and sworn enemy, who'd been watching her suspiciously, seemed to have noticed something was off. During a callout, she was injured. The loss of blood brought on an unbearable thirst. Her eyes glowed scarlet, and sharp fangs protruded from her mouth. Anyone would have taken her for a vampire. At the same time, a colleague was approaching from behind, while her curly-haired nemesis was coming toward her from the front, frowning as he stared at her. She closed her eyes and slumped against the wall, waiting for the curly-haired officer to execute her on the spot. But instead of the sharp pain of a bullet in her head, she was pulled into a broad, protective embrace. One hand cradled the back of her head, and a warm, vulnerable neck pressed against her sharp fangs. Matsuda let out a helpless sigh above her. "You still can't take care of yourself." "Go ahead and bite." Reading guide and content warnings: 1. Mainly Detective Conan, with hidden Easter eggs for readers to discover in the comments. 2. Pairing: Matsuda. A human whose blood is irresistible x a picky, food-averse vampire. An older woman-younger man romance with a four-year age gap. 3. The SAT is a special police unit. The author's notes include explanations and skits. The entire police academy group survives, and nobody gets written out. The story starts around graduation, and time will skip ahead. 4. Everyday-life style, with romance developing over time as they solve cases together. You don't need to know the source material to enjoy it.
