I Really Don't Want to Inherit the Winery

My next story, "So My Online Friend Is the Tennis Club Captain," is now open for reading. Feel free to add it to your collection!

Also check out my upcoming story, "Help! I Want to Transfer Out of Beika Town."

Thanks for all your support, cuties!

My name is Kurosawa Che, and I'm 25 years old.

I have another name, Karasuma Tetsuya. My family's got an old man who loves being mysterious, and for some other reasons I can't explain, I personally don't like using that name either.

I just got back to Japan from Italy. The first place I decided to visit was the business I'd bought before going abroad, the one I planned to spend my retirement running: a cafe. I think it's called Poirot?

Even though I went to Italy at eighteen because I was rebellious and in my chuunibyou phase, then spent seven years living it up abroad, and even though I got called back by some inexplicable phone call to inherit the family business, none of that has changed my lifelong dream of running a cafe!

Just think about it: no need to get up early, sleeping until I wake naturally, then sitting in my own cafe with a delicious latte, and maybe experimenting with recipes when I've got nothing else to do. What a wonderful life!

As for the corporation and the organization?

Those managers are paid so well. If they can't run the corporation properly, do they even want their jobs?

And who would want to take over an organization that's practically been turned into a sieve by undercover agents?

I stepped into Poirot and saw a familiar-looking blond guy with dark skin greeting me. I fell into deep thought: would the laid-back life I wanted really come true?

Jin-ge, help! I'm surrounded by the good guys!

Reader's note and warnings:

1. The blurb is in first person, while the main story is in third person.

2. The protagonist isn't purely evil, nor is he on the good guys' side. You could call him neutral, leaning toward the dark side. He has a codename based on a type of liquor, but has barely taken part in any of the organization's activities.

Additional warning, November 19, 2021: Gin has some headcanon details involving the protagonist. Other members of the organization also have headcanon details. The organization's setting may be heavily altered, though it will still be dealt with in the end. Not every member will be dealt with, however. Please don't read if that bothers you.

3. Some characters may be out of character.

4. The male lead is mentioned in the last line of the blurb.

5. This is a crossover universe. Details have been changed according to the author's headcanons, so please don't scrutinize them too closely.

6. The protagonist has finished living it up in Italy and entered his laid-back retirement phase, so this is more of a slice-of-life story. The author is working hard to improve their writing (hiding my face, I really have put thought into the plot).

"My Brother Can't Possibly Be on the Dark Side!"

My name is Jianggu Ye. I graduated from the police academy, and I've never believed in anything supernatural.

Until I was reborn.

Yes, reborn.

I got drunk at a dinner celebrating Zero-ge's end to his undercover career. When I woke up, I found myself back at sixteen, when Zero-ge had just passed the police academy entrance exam.

It felt absurd that I could get a second chance at life, but seeing Zero-ge happily leaning on his friends, I could only think: It's all still ahead of us. Thank goodness!

I have to do something to stop my brothers from dying!

Kenji-ge: saved!

Hiro-ge: saved!

Jinphei-ge: saved!

Wataru-ge: saved!

After successfully saving my brothers, I breathed a sigh of relief. Next, I just had to help Zero-ge take down the organization.

But after reuniting with Zero-ge, I suddenly realized: wait, there's something off about this Zero-ge!

Theme: A simple, peaceful life is what really matters.
