[Sherlock Holmes] Miss Sharpe of 223B Baker Street

A young woman who always dressed in black moved into 223 Baker Street. Some people had seen her at crime scenes, and the police often came and went from her home.

The residents of Baker Street speculated about the mysterious woman's identity, but they all reached the same conclusion.

Keep your distance from her.

The mysterious woman, Violet, had successfully been shunned by her neighbors. Six months after her cousin brought her to London, she was targeted in an assassination attempt.

So, the very next day, Violet's cousin hired a taciturn bodyguard for her.

Violet looked at the man before her. "Hello, I'm Violet Sharp."

The taciturn bodyguard, Landon: "Landon Reed."

Violet: "My cousin Mycroft said you used to work for the government."

Landon: "Yes."

Violet: "He said wherever I go, you go too, and that you'll help me with my work when necessary. Is that right?"

Landon: "Correct."

Violet: "That's wonderful!"

Landon: "???"

A month later, Landon was searching the woods for criminal evidence, covered in mud and lost in thought.

Had Mycroft Holmes tricked him? He hadn't mentioned that the job would be this exhausting.

Landon looked up at Violet, who was almost crawling into a thicket without a care for her appearance.

Wasn't he supposed to be protecting a delicate young lady? Hadn't they said her work was nothing more than ordinary, simple tasks?

What about her work was ordinary or simple?

This bodyguard job needs a pay raise!!!

Content warnings:

1. This is a derivative work of the original Sherlock Holmes novels, not the television or film adaptations.

2. Both the male and female leads are original characters, and the heroine is Holmes's cousin. Holmes and Watson do not have many scenes. Also, the author is absolutely an out-of-character specialist. Any OOC portrayal is on me.

3. The story is set in the Victorian era. The author has limited knowledge, so please don't be too strict about historical details. Thank you, dears.
