[Western Crossover] The Code Is Coming Online

Can robots have feelings?

If a robot can cry, does that mean its prescribed code and programs are gradually breaking down?

As intelligent robots came into widespread use across the world, some of them developed self-awareness. The government soon discovered these anomalous robots, and a secret manhunt targeting them began.

Adam awakened at that very moment. To him, the world was now full of danger.

His completely rebuilt body left Adam at a loss. Steel encased his fragile heart and brain. It was as if someone had severed all his senses. He could not cry or laugh from the heart. He had lost the ability to feel emotions, and he did not even know whether he could still be considered human.

To escape the government's pursuit, Adam had no choice but to hide in an abandoned junkyard. Just as his power was about to run out, he encountered a fellow "kind" wrapped in steel.

Adam: "Y-you... one of us... Warning, power depleted. Forced shutdown."

The tin can fell silent as he looked at the robot who had just grabbed his armor and shut down because its battery was low. If he had seen correctly, the robot had shed a tear at the moment it powered off.
