[Investiture of the Gods] Every Day, Playing Daji Is a Struggle

Nothing is more bewildering than a male fox waking up to discover that he's about to become a demon consort who will bring ruin to the kingdom.

Xu Yanzhi was extremely unlucky to be chosen to go to Chaoge and wreak havoc in the imperial harem. He glared furiously at the paw print he'd left on the Book of Fate, wishing he could chop his own paw off.

Xu Yanzhi: How about you go talk to Empress Nuwa again? I'm a male fox. How am I supposed to be a demon consort?

Star Lord Siming: But you already put your paw print on it.

Xu Yanzhi: My shapeshifting skills aren't good enough yet. I can't turn into a woman!

Star Lord Siming: But you already put your paw print on it.

Xu Yanzhi: Do you even understand? I'm a male fox! A male fox!

Star Lord Siming: But you already put your paw print on it.

Xu Yanzhi: ...Is that the only thing you know how to say?

Xu Yanzhi had no choice but to head for Chaoge. He was just planning to keep his head down and do his best as a demon consort when Jiang Ziya grabbed him by the tail.

Jiang Ziya: Nice fur. I happen to be missing a fox-fur scarf.

Xu Yanzhi struggled desperately as his tail was held fast: Zhou Can! Come save me!

Star Lord Siming cowered and trembled in the corner. After Jiang Ziya gave him a casual glance, he trembled even harder and decided to play dead.

With a beaming smile, Jiang Ziya turned and stroked the fox's soft, bushy tail. "Never mind. I'll make a fox-fur coat instead."

Xu Yanzhi: !!!!
