Coming Soon: I Hatch Eggs for Baldies at Leiyin Temple. Please add it to your reading list.
Blurb: Pei Wensi of the Celestial Realm took a trip to the Yihuo Realm. When he came back, a physician diagnosed him with a happy pulse.
When Pei Wensi heard the news, his face went dark. “I, am, a, male, immortal, for, crying, out, loud!”
A man becoming pregnant was a rarity beyond compare. On the day the child was due, immortals from across the realm came bearing gifts to congratulate him, and, while they were at it, ask whether he had given birth to a boy or a girl.
“It’s not an immortal child.”
“Then what did you give birth to?”
Pei Wensi wore an inscrutable expression and pulled a round, gleaming golden immortal egg from his robes.
“You may not believe this, but this time... I laid an egg.”
The immortals: “???”
They had good reason to suspect that Lord Wensi, the Star Sovereign, had some kind of improper relationship with a certain divine beast.
Feng Wu was the only phoenix in all of Heaven and Earth, and her life was as long as the heavens themselves.
Four thousand years ago, she entered nirvana and transformed into an egg. She absorbed the world's origin power in the Yihuo Realm, quietly awaiting her rebirth in flames. But when she finally hatched, she poked her head out and came face-to-face with a refined-looking man.
Pei Wensi: “Daughter! I'm your father.”
Feng Wu: “???”
When she understood what he meant, she immediately roared, “I, am, your, ancestor!”
When Feng Wu chased Pei Wensi all over the Celestial Realm with a forty-meter-long blade, he wore a stubborn expression, unwavering in his convictions.
“No matter what you say, I'm your father.”
Feng Wu's face darkened. She held a blade in one hand and unleashed a devastating attack with the other.
“One of us is dying today. That's final.”
A few notes:
(The cover is from Bishui.)
1. This is a xianxia setting, and the logic does hold up. Read the story and you'll understand.
2. Nothing too triggering or angsty. The couple are both each other's one and only.
3. The female lead is present from the very beginning. It's just that she's an egg at first, and takes a little while to hatch.

Coming Soon: I Hatch Eggs for Baldies at Leiyin Temple. Please add it to your reading list.
Blurb:
They say that a Buddhist egg has been enshrined at Great Leiyin Temple for ages.
The egg was originally a relic left behind after the previous Buddha passed away. It later became sentient after the temple's monks chanted Buddhist sutras and offered prayers over it.
Everyone says that the next Buddha is being nurtured inside this Buddhist egg.
And the Buddha will be the next leader of the faith.
Great Leiyin Temple poured everything it had into caring for the egg. Yet millions of years passed, and there was still no sign of it hatching.
Then one day, as Song Shushu passed by Spirit Mountain, the egg... moved.
What to do?
Call in outside help.
Song Shushu was brought in to hatch the Buddhist egg, and immediately named her price. “I'm a celestial official, after all. I have some dignity to maintain. If you want me to hatch a Buddhist egg... it'll cost extra.”
The Buddhas and arhats: “???”
Can someone get struck by lightning already?
She's even plucking the baldies' hair. Unbelievable.
But she was their last hope, so they had no choice but to agree.
During Song Shushu's years at Great Leiyin Temple, she enjoyed fine wine and rich food, ate spirit fruit and drank heavenly nectar all day, and occasionally teased the monks. She turned the whole temple upside down, and plenty of monks clamored to leave the monastery and return to secular life.
The Buddhas panicked.
Get her out of here. We have to get her out of here.
Just as Song Shushu was thrown out of Great Leiyin Temple, furious enough to set the Buddhist egg in a pot over a fire...
The Buddhist egg... cracked.
And it wasn't just the egg that broke. The hearts of all those baldies at Great Leiyin Temple broke, too.
On the day the Buddhist child left the temple, all 108 arhats of Great Leiyin Temple came rushing out.
“Buddhist child, do you choose us or her?”
Lu Jinyu followed right behind Song Shushu without looking back, tossing out only two hurried words.
“I'm sorry!”
From beginning to end, she was the only one he had ever wanted.
PS: Nothing too triggering. I'll write it and see how it goes.
Devoted to each other, doting on each other, lots of laughs.
Theme: Live with a clear conscience before Heaven, Earth, other people, and yourself.
The heroine is Feng Wu? I always feel that I didn't hatch the eggs directly but stayed in the male protagonist's belly. It's a bit strange to be a couple with the male protagonist...
The male protagonist is the current Immortal Emperor who has been missing for many years, and the entire Immortal World will be obsessed with him.
It should be the love between father and daughter, right? I feel like it would be awkward to fall in love...
I don't quite understand why so many male protagonists are better than the female protagonists nowadays? The male protagonist must be the Immortal Emperor, otherwise he would be a ghost. Anyway, the male protagonist must be stronger than the female protagonist. Even if there is no stronger female protagonist now, there will definitely be a stronger female protagonist in the future.
Why are you throwing feathers? If you think it is useless, there is no need to throw them. I don't understand what this operation is for.
Hahaha, I just took a look at the author's column. You are so miserable. There are only 270 collections. Contribute a little collection of mine to you!
I am a female protagonist and I really hate it when male protagonists are stronger than female protagonists.
Will you come back? Been waiting
It makes me laugh so much, you guys who are born in the year of fire, don't you feel uncomfortable with the property of our third son?
Hahaha, good job Laojun!!
