I Went to College So I Could Become an Emperor

The real young master, switched at birth, grew up in the countryside and was raised by his grandmother into a confident little emperor. He had a gorgeous mixed-race face, but looked down terribly on people born into better circumstances and was also an extreme overachiever. After getting into university, he moved in with one of his late father's old army buddies. The moment he arrived, he was dazzled by all the money.

Even so, the real young master kept up his arrogant act. His grandma said that an emperor had once come from the Zhu family, and descendants of emperors didn't care about this sort of thing. The real young master's attitude gradually irritated the old army buddy's younger son, who brought in his uncle's son, the love interest.

The love interest's family had more power than the old army buddy's. Seeing the real young master acting all high and mighty, he really wanted to tease him. The real young master's desire for money and power, and to climb the social ladder, far surpassed everyone else's. The fake young master found out, too. He sighed and said, "People are forced to act this way by money, aren't they? Don't make fun of him." (White-lotus act in progress.)

But later, the real young master's origins were revealed: the two families had switched babies during an earthquake. His actual family really was wealthy, and was on an equal footing with the love interest's family. The love interest thought the real young master would be delighted. Instead, the real young master burst into tears and said, "I refuse to acknowledge them! An emperor came from my family! What's so special about the X family? No emperor ever had the surname X."

The real young master refused point-blank to return to his family, even running back to the countryside. Looking at his grandma, his heart ached. When he was little, people had said he didn't look like anyone in his family, and he'd beaten them up one by one. It turned out he really wasn't part of their family, and wasn't a descendant of emperors living in poverty, either.

He didn't want to be taken back. He'd rather die than go. He still had to bring glory to the old Zhu family.

The fake young master went to the real young master's home, bringing luxury goods and nutritional supplements. Grandma thought her grandson's friend from the city had come to visit and welcomed him warmly. But as soon as the real young master heard, he ran back and chased the fake young master out with a broom.

"Get out! I won't let you take my home!" he shouted.

The love interest had come after him a few days earlier and hurried to lift the real young master into his arms and comfort him. The real young master's family was poor, and there really wasn't much to steal from their few tile-roofed rooms. The love interest said, "I didn't expect you to react so strongly. Aren't you crazy about money?"

The real young master yelled, "It doesn't matter whether I have that money or not! I was born to be an emperor! Even without them, I can become Steve Jobs!"

The real young master couldn't believe he really had foreign devil blood. His actual family tried to reassure him, saying that his biological mother had German aristocratic blood and that, after returning to his family, he could add a "von" to his name. The real young master flew into a rage. "I don't want to be a foreigner! Foreigners are all bad!"
