Blurb:

Mutated pheromones are like time bombs hidden everywhere. Some infected people die, some become complete monsters, while others gain powers like a blessing.

Your neighbor might suddenly become a monster with a gigantic hand. Your friend might suddenly grow fangs or panda ears. One day, you might be able to connect with plants and make them grow, restore severed limbs in an instant, control the wind in nature, the temperature of flowing water, the air around you, or even space and other people's memories...

The International Bureau for Research and Defense against Pheromone Variants (BRPV) was established. Training bases around the world cultivate superpowered people with variant abilities. They are walking reapers, and weapons humanity uses to defend its survival and peace.

1. Not long after Xie Mingze joined the Bureau for Research and Defense against Pheromone Variants, a senior colleague patiently advised him:

Remember, your partner hates the smell of smoke and being touched by other people. He has severe mysophobia, and what he hates most is people prying into his past.

When he presses his lips together, he's dangerous. When he smiles, he's even more dangerous.

Xie Mingze asked, "What if he cries?"

Senior colleague: "Young man, don't get your hopes up."

2. Xie Mingze fused with too many variant pheromones in a short time. He knocked down his usually high-and-mighty superior and ravaged him like a beast, tasting the saltiness of his tears.

The next day, the emotionless empowered fighter rumored to be able to take down thousands of variant people with his bare hands threw him out of a twenty-fifth-floor apartment with his bare hands.

P.S.:

1. The story features the concept of "variant pheromones" and is not ABO.

2. A fantasy story, and a pretty outlandish one.

3. The countries and cities in the story are sometimes linked to real places, but don't correspond exactly.

4. The agency is made up.

5. Left here for reference.

Theme: Humanity is fragile, yet tenacious.
