The Foolish Beauty

A little fox spirit who has just learned to take human form is frantically fleeing a powerful demon when he accidentally bumps into an immortal's arms.

The little fox spirit is terrified and timidly asks the immortal if he's hurt.

The strong, healthy immortal clutches his chest and says, "Yes, I'm hurt. You'll have to take responsibility."

The little fox spirit's eyes widen. "But I can't see any wound!"

The immortal keeps a straight face. "It's an internal injury."

The little fox spirit: ...

*

The immortal originally thought that the silly little one he'd happened upon was just a way to amuse himself in his spare time.

But when he could no longer sense the little one's presence anywhere under heaven, the immortal, who had lived for countless millennia, dropped and shattered the teacup in his hand for the first time.

Actually, the little fool is the cleverest of all.

He may not understand complicated matters of love, but he's not stupid. He knows to run away when something hurts, and to stay away from whoever hurts him.

A story about a foolish fox spirit who gets thoroughly seduced by an immortal pretending to be harmless.

Theme: Be honest and trustworthy, and treat others sincerely.
