A secret, illegitimate son falls in love with the cherished heir of a powerful family.
Synopsis:
Lu Weizhuo doesn't have many hobbies. Eating old-fashioned pastries is one of them.
Born into the Lu family, Lu Weizhuo was hailed as a prodigy from the moment he came into the world. His talent for mechanics emerged in elementary school, and by high school, he'd formed his own team to compete for the country. The top floor of the school's technology building is filled with his creations. In the photos on the honor board, he always looks composed and self-assured, with a maturity beyond his years.
When it comes to love, he seems to be even more passionate about machines.
Every day, he is the last to leave the workshop. One day, he happens to spot a newly opened shop nearby: the Landing Tea House.
Drawn in by the name, Lu Weizhuo steps inside, only to discover a whole new world. The tea house is absolutely to his taste: the tea, the music, and even a private suite where he can spend the night.
Most astonishing of all, they also have the Hero Walnut Pastries he has loved since childhood.
So he rents a suite outright. Every day after work, he comes here for tea and pastries, and sometimes stays the night. He also happens to meet the tea house's junior massage therapist.
The young man is slender, wears a mask, and has almond-shaped eyes that look surprised to be receiving any kindness. His massage technique is terrible, completely unprofessional.
Afraid the tea house might fire him for being so bad at his job, Lu Weizhuo requests him every time. Before long, the Landing Tea House becomes his regular place to land, until one day he returns and finds that the suite no longer has any Hero Walnut Pastries.
"Excuse me, I'd like to order a serving of Hero Walnut Pastries on their own," Lu Weizhuo asks the front desk.
The manager pauses, then smiles apologetically. "I'm sorry, but our shop doesn't sell Hero Walnut Pastries."
This is the first time Lu Weizhuo realizes there's something strange about the Landing Tea House.
Wen Huan has had a crush on Lu Weizhuo for years.
As an illegitimate son of the Wen family, Wen Huan has suffered since childhood, enduring endless hardship and contempt. He has only one close friend. His grand, all-consuming crush is one of the things that keeps him going. He works hard, hoping to get a little closer to the unattainable man of his dreams, but he never manages to break through. He doesn't dare approach him.
All he can do is open a little tea house near Lu Weizhuo's workshop and fantasize that he might come in.
One day, Lu Weizhuo really does show up.
Then Wen Huan nearly works himself to death.
Lu Weizhuo has boundless energy. He finishes work at midnight and arrives at one in the morning. Wen Huan secretly approaches him in the guise of a junior massage therapist, awkwardly and clumsily touching his body, while still finding time to prepare special tea treats for him, including the Hero Walnut Pastries that are no longer available anywhere else.
At last, his body gives out, and he collapses at home with a fever.
That day, the Landing Tea House has no Hero Walnut Pastries.
Theme: What a boy cannot have in his youth won't haunt him for the rest of his life.
