I Have a Cannon Fodder Group

Zhou Gongge dies on the operating table, but fate gives him another chance, pulling him into a mysterious group.

If he can earn the approval of the others in the group, he can keep living.

And the group's main test is... seeing who has the most tragic story.

A cultivator: I was supposed to be the most promising talent of the new generation in the cultivation world, but my useless junior brother drove me into cultivation deviation and destroyed my sect. He crushed my golden core to bits.

A crown prince: I was supposed to inherit the throne, but some bastard from nowhere stole my position as crown prince. My father listened to his lies, stripped me of my title, and exiled me eight hundred li to the borderlands.

An actor: Heh. All I did was speak a little sharply while coaching a rookie on set, and his lover ruined my reputation. I'm in a psychiatric hospital getting treatment now. Can't talk, the nurse is making her rounds.

Zhou Gongge: …

Zhou Gongge: It's nothing much. I just found out on my coming-of-age day that I'd been switched at birth, and my sworn enemy was actually my father's biological son.

Then I got so worked up that I had a heart attack, and the hospital found that I had a terminal illness with a very low cure rate.

The next day, my boyfriend suddenly told me his white moonlight was back, and apologized for treating me as his replacement.

And just now, half an hour before the operation began, my attending physician, known as the finest doctor in China, suddenly died.

Everyone: …

The cultivator: Suddenly, my junior brother doesn't seem that hard to deal with. Let me think of a way to kill him.

The crown prince: After hearing your story, I realize I can't keep giving up on myself. I'm going back to the capital to purge the court!

The actor: Holy crap, this script is so bad that I'm kind of tempted to act in it.

And so, Zhou Gongge became the group's spiritual pillar.

Theme: No matter how hard life gets, keep striving toward the light
