After the Divorce, Beta Had His Glands Removed

Pei Lin is a Beta. He knows it can never happen, but he still can't help secretly loving Jiang Zhoumian, a top-tier Alpha, for seven years.

Then, in the eighth year, they get married.

A marriage of convenience.

Only because Jiang Zhoumian needs to expand his business empire, and Pei Lin's love and status make him a useful pawn.

Love can intoxicate like strong liquor and spread like wildfire.

But the drink wears off, and the flames die out.

So, in their third year of marriage, Pei Lin hands over divorce papers.

Who would have thought Jiang Zhoumian would refuse to sign?

After being diagnosed with a rare case of late-onset Omega development, Pei Lin signs the consent form for permanent gland removal surgery.

Jiang Zhoumian kneels before him, eyes red, begging him not to go through with it.

Pei Lin asks him why.

Jiang Zhoumian says through tears, "I've fallen in love with you."

For one moment, the world falls still.

Pei Lin silently chews over the confession he once yearned for. After a long pause, he suddenly leans down and gently cups Jiang Zhoumian's face.

"Then all the more reason to remove them," Pei Lin says, gentler than ever. "How could I let you mark me?"

A groveling-chasing-the-wife story, full of melodrama.

The protagonist is ruthless and doesn't waste words, but is completely crazy underneath. He loves like a madman and leaves like one too, so he really does remove his glands.

Since the glands are removed, this is an Alpha/Beta story.
