(Bungou Stray Dogs) The Caged Bird

Shen Mingque was the beloved little bird of the Port Mafia boss. She thought she could retire after turning thirty, but people never know whether an accident or tomorrow will come first.

The Port Mafia boss finally succeeded in jumping off a building.

Shen Mingque: ???

Little Que was horrified: Oh no, I'll never live a lavish, decadent life again! Sob!

After an accident sent Shen Mingque back to her younger days, she wound up in Kabukicho and finally learned that there wasn't a single decent man to be found in a nightclub.

Take fifteen-year-old Dazai Osamu, for example:

He tries to drown himself, she fishes him out.

He tries to hang himself, she rescues him.

He's broke, she pays.

He runs into danger, she's the first to charge in.

And yet Dazai, that piece of trash,

When someone betrayed them, he first suspected she was the mastermind.

He sent her undercover, and nearly got her killed along with himself.

They shared hardships, but all Dazai managed to do was make her suffer.

But when Shen Mingque thought of how he would one day become the man who ruled the entire night, she gritted her teeth and put up with it.

Later, she saw Dazai, now eighteen and a defector, and realized he would never wear that black coat and red scarf in this lifetime. She promptly pulled out her gun and settled every score from the past three years.

[I will love you until the end of my life]

But you have to be the you I know.

※

The Boss Dazai world has some original additions.

The heroine is essentially a bed companion who got emotionally involved: naive, foolish, and spoiled, with Boss Dazai on her mind all the time (emphasis added).

"I'm a bad woman."

"So what?"

Theme: Who is the caged bird?
