After My Bedfellow Seized Power

Advance notice: "A Little Less Scheming". The blurb is at the very bottom. Gong's perspective: The year Xi Han first met Yin Yansheng, Yin Yansheng was only nineteen. In a place of neon lights and revelry, fear and ferocity mingled in his eyes. He was like a wild little beast, both defiant and frightened. Xi Han's heart softened at a single glance, and he took the boy in. Five years later, Xi Han had lost his power, and the company belonged to Yin Yansheng. The person beside him in bed still had the same face, but had shed his youthful innocence. Calmly adjusting his cuffs, he said, "I can leave you with nothing now." His rowdy friends laughed and said Xi Han had raised himself a little wolf cub. Xi Han only lowered his eyes and lit a cigarette. In the flickering firelight, he said coolly, "I'm afraid I'll lose both my money and myself." Shou's perspective: Yin Yansheng met Xi Han when he was at his most wretched, at nineteen. He married him at twenty-two, and even after five years together, he still felt he hadn't truly won Xi Han's heart. So what was he supposed to do? Yin Yansheng thought he could only use these external things to force Xi Han's hand. 1. This is a gong-centric story. The gong and shou are endgame. 2. Not suitable for readers who are gong stans, shou stans, or any kind of stan. 3. We read to have fun. If you don't like it, don't hesitate to run. ---- Advance notice: "A Little Less Scheming" ---- Jiang Yu became the undisputed heir to the Jiang family at twenty-five. He was polished and socially adept, with a string of Buddhist prayer beads around his wrist and a gentle, refined air. Everyone in their circle praised him as a noble young master. Yan Chen was the crown prince of Dongcheng, vicious, capricious, and volatile. His behavior was famously outrageous. One day, Yan Chen took a fancy to Jiang Yu and announced that he was going to get his hands on the noble young master and have some fun. A friend, eager to watch the spectacle, said to Jiang Yu, "You know what he's like. He'll get whatever he sets his sights on. What are you going to do?" The gentle, distinguished man gave no answer. He merely rolled his fingertips together, thought of that handsome face, and let out a soft laugh. Later, as rumors in their circle grew louder, his younger brother scratched his head and asked, "Brother Yu, does Yan Chen really like you?" Jiang Yu laughed and replied unhurriedly, "Only children say they like someone. Adults seduce each other." * [Shou's perspective] Everyone said Jiang Yu was a refined gentleman. Only Yan Chen saw the ambition beneath his gentle exterior. With a pleased smile, he thought casually: He especially liked clever people like Jiang Yu, people who wouldn't stop until they got what they wanted, because they acted just like him, caring only about the outcome and not the means. What surprised him was how perfectly Jiang Yu suited his tastes. His initial plan to get him and have some fun had gradually turned into an absolute need to possess him. It wasn't until they'd been together for a long time that Yan Chen realized his chosen prey had long since made him its own prey. * Everyone in their circle knew that Jiang Yu was calculating and Yan Chen ruthless and decisive. Their families had equal standing, and the two of them seemed like kings who would never share a throne. When the two of them schemed against and hurt each other, everyone watched the drama unfold each day. Some even placed bets on which of them would be ruined. But they waited and waited, and neither family went bankrupt or landed in prison. All they saw was one of them pinning the other to the sofa and kissing him. Everyone: ...Well, look at that. Pretty sweet. Theme: Love means understanding each other and choosing to come together.
