At Worst, I'll Marry You

The emperor holds a banquet to choose a crown princess. The two most likely candidates are the prime minister's legitimate daughter and the general's legitimate daughter, one a scholar and one a warrior, making the choice difficult. Someone drugs and frames the two women, intending to ruin their reputations. But when everyone arrives, they find the women asleep in each other's arms. Everyone realizes they've been framed. The emperor is furious and orders a thorough investigation, but has no choice but to remove them both from the list of potential crown princesses. Unable to bear the damage to her reputation, the prime minister's daughter attempts suicide several times, but fails. When the general's daughter hears about it, she comes to comfort her and promises to take responsibility. The general petitions the emperor to arrange their marriage, and the general's and prime minister's families become in-laws. The two women establish their own household, open a restaurant and an academy, and form a caravan. They are exceptionally loving.
