Marriage first, love later / Complete strangers / The male lead falls first
1. Six months after Lin Wenyu and Fu Jingli get married, Fu Jingli returns home after working overseas.
On his first night back, Lin Wenyu doesn't come home, so he has to message her and ask:
[Miss Lin, do you plan to come home after work tonight?]
But days pass after he sends the message, and Lin Wenyu never responds.
Finally, on the fifth night Lin Wenyu stays away, Fu Jingli asks someone to find out where she works and decides to pick her up himself.
2. Before they married, Lin Wenyu had already heard about the only son of the Fu family.
He was young, accomplished, and famously cold and ascetic.
They had nothing in common, whether in terms of family background, personality, or character.
Lin Wenyu thought of their marriage as a partnership. She was content to treat each other with respect and expected no deep feelings to develop between them.
But after returning to the country, Fu Jingli reached out to her first.
While waiting for her next patient to arrive, Lin Wenyu was about to reply when a refined, dignified man walked through the door.
His features seemed vaguely familiar.
But she paid no mind, glanced at his name, and asked the question she always asked: "What's bothering you?"
"What time does Dr. Lin get off work? Should I wait and go home with you?"
Faced with the unwanted advances, Lin Wenyu frowned and refused. "I have a husband."
Fu Jingli's expression stilled.
He slowly raised his eyes and gazed into Lin Wenyu's clear, watery eyes. "Miss Lin, do you have another husband on the side?"
"..."
3. Since Lin Wenyu always seemed to forget about home when she got busy with work, Fu Jingli decided they should draw up a postnuptial agreement.
When she received it, Lin Wenyu had just hung up a call from the hospital.
She obligingly read through it, clause by clause, and found only minor matters, such as not staying out all night.
Most of the terms were acceptable, and she was about to sign when she noticed a line in the smallest print at the very end:
[Neither party may use work as an excuse to refuse marital relations each night.]
"..."
Lin Wenyu thought the public had completely misjudged Fu Jingli.
