Forbidden Paradox

[Gentle photographer x tsundere model | Almost sister-in-law and brother-in-law, hookup turned real]

Pei Pei's photography career in Zurich is thriving, but her parents' business is in trouble.

With no choice, she agrees to an arranged marriage with the Ling family. She plans to drink and let loose, but unexpectedly ends up spending the night with a stranger.

Back in China, Pei Pei goes to dinner at her fiance's house,

only to discover that Ling Xiao, the tall, handsome, unruly, and mean-spirited younger brother her fiance told her about, is the very man she had a one-night stand with!

Pei Pei nearly dies of embarrassment on the spot. She sits through the entire meal on pins and needles,

but Ling Xiao still corners her in the garden. "Miss Pei, did you sleep comfortably in that hotel bed in Zurich?"

Pei Pei's heart tightens. She does her best to keep her expression calm. "What are you talking about? I don't understand."

Ling Xiao chuckles softly. "You don't have to admit it. I'll help you remember, little by little."

From then on, Ling Xiao repeatedly helps Pei Pei "recover her memories":

When she cooks for her fiance, he mocks her for liking to "sneak a bite" on the side.

When his parents ask him to choose an engagement gift, he deliberately gives her a key card to the Zurich hotel.

Pei Pei can't take it anymore. While trying on wedding dresses, she takes the opportunity to tell her fiance that she wants to move out after the wedding.

But when his older brother steps away, Ling Xiao storms into Pei Pei's fitting room, bristling with hostility.

He doesn't give her time to react before gripping her chin.

Pei Pei's heart pounds wildly. With her back against the cold mirror, she forces herself to stay calm and scolds him:

"Let go! Ling Xiao, are you crazy? Get out, now! I'm your sister-in-law!"

Ling Xiao stares at Pei Pei, his dark, churning gaze threatening to swallow her whole.

He leans closer, his scorching breath brushing her ear, every word thick with resentment:

"Who knows if this wedding will even happen? And you're already calling yourself my sister-in-law?"
