Why Is the God of War Like This?

[Story Description:]

Word has it that one of the female high deities in the Ninth Heaven is famously arrogant and overbearing.

But one day, an explosive piece of news spread across the Three Realms at a speed of 80,000 meters per second:

High Deity Shijiu and the God of War, Jun Huai, were engaged!

A few days earlier,

Shijiu found the banquet boring and went for a stroll around the Ninth Heaven. By chance, she wandered into a magnificent palace,

and, as luck would have it, got to admire a "handsome man bathing."

And, as even worse luck would have it, the handsome man caught her red-handed.

A few days later,

the handsome man grabbed her by the scruff and revealed his identity, then reported her to the Heavenly Lord and the assembled gods.

Shijiu was stunned. She had seen the bare backside of the Heavenly Realm's famously aloof beauty! Good heavens...

Jun Huai (dead serious): "My virtue has been compromised. Does Your Highness not intend to take responsibility?"

Shijiu (utterly distraught): "Take responsibility for your sister! Get a grip, you're a man!"

Later on,

Jun Huai changed his identity, assumed a false name, and became her disciple. He successfully moved in with her, and so their daily life went like this:

Shijiu: "How infuriating! That Jun Huai fellow must be getting back at me for peeking. He's unbelievably petty."

Someone: "Achoo..."

Shijiu: "If you ask me, the reason he's known as an aloof beauty is actually... because he likes male immortals, right?"

Someone: (His eye twitched.)

Shijiu: "Alas, here I am in the prime of my youth, about to marry an old immortal whose roots have withered away."

Someone: "? Withered... roots?" (A vein throbbed at his temple.)

And finally, finally,

in the gentle night breeze, as she was bullied until tears ran down her cheeks,

Jun Huai leaned close to her ear and asked softly: "Tell me, have these roots withered?"
