After I Became a Lotus Spirit

Rong Mu transmigrates into the past and becomes a lotus that has gained human form. A monk gives him to a mad emperor to help the man cultivate self-restraint. His mission is to reduce the casualties caused by the emperor's indiscriminate rampages. Rong Mu: ...Don't pick on me just because I'm a delicate flower! That very night, he transforms into human form and tries to run away, only to nearly plunge headfirst into his own enormous pot. The legendary mad emperor appears out of nowhere. “An assassin?” Rong Mu's mind goes blank, and he blurts out the excuse he will regret for two lifetimes: “It's a misunderstanding! I'm the new imperial consort!” - Shang Cizhou knows exactly how many decorative vases there are in his harem. Those ornaments never dare overstep their bounds, unlike this one, who's bold enough to lie to him. The emperor takes an interest. Today he sends someone to fish koi out of the imperial garden and tickle Rong Mu's feet. Tomorrow he kicks him outside to enjoy a sunbath in the palace. As time passes, Consort Rong doesn't wilt. If anything, he grows more lively and spirited. Shang Cizhou has never managed to keep anything alive. Rong Mu may do nothing but daydream, admire flowers, and eat imperial meals, but having him around puts the emperor in a good mood and makes him feel refreshed. So what if Rong Mu is an assassin? He's so foolish. Surely he can't be that hard to keep. - The emperor's behavior grows increasingly peculiar, and Rong Mu gradually gives up trying to make sense of it. But flowers have a limited blooming season, and to keep his secret identity safe, he has to crawl back into his lotus from time to time to rest. Then one day, the white-haired little flower spirit unexpectedly comes face-to-face with the emperor, who has risen early to attend court. Rong Mu: ...Help! I haven't dyed my hair back yet! But why does he look even more flustered than I do? A devoted, slightly unhinged emperor x a delicate flower who's playful but levelheaded Also known as "A Guide to Growing Flowers in the Imperial Palace", "Those Years the Emperor Mistook Me for a Seriously Ill Man", "Untainted by the Mud, But Wash the Dishes After Eating Imperial Cuisine", and "How Do You Fall in Love When the Script Is Different?" Reader's guide: 1. No harem, 1v1. The setting is very fictional. The protagonist has a bit of a species advantage, and the love interest isn't exactly a nice person. 2. There are some life-or-death moments, but they've already passed. The main story starts with the love interest at peak villainy, doting on the protagonist. 3. This isn't a political intrigue story. It's all about the romance, all about the romance, all about the romance. I write for fun, so don't take the nonsense seriously. 4. Yes, they have a child, but there won't be a childbirth plot. The child is grown from a plant to inherit the throne. Theme: Even in darkness, believe that one day you'll smell the fragrance of flowers.
