After I Transmigrated into a Book, I Mistook the Protagonist

Zhu Huai transmigrates into a male-oriented cultivation novel with a leveling-up plot, becoming the male lead's master. In the original story, the male lead fought his way through countless trials, slaughtered his enemies, and eventually reached the pinnacle of the cultivation world, becoming an immortal king of his era. Unfortunately, Zhu Huai has no idea who the male lead is. To figure it out, Zhu Huai draws on his years of reading experience and sets his sights on his second disciple, Xie She: a boy with a tragic past and extraordinary talent. Besides training and spoiling him, Zhu Huai also makes sure to cling tightly to his coattails. When there's a mission, Zhu Huai says, "Xie She, you go. With your protagonist halo, you'll definitely get it done!" When there's an assassin, Zhu Huai says, "Xie She, you're up. With your heaven-defying strength, you'll crush them!" Xie She: "..." Zhu Huai thinks his protagonist disciple will lead him to the peak of life, but when the real male lead awakens memories of his past life and comes calling, Zhu Huai finally realizes he's been clinging to the wrong person's coattails all along. Zhu Huai rubs his aching waist. "My disciple found a different way to take me to the peak of life." * Many years later, when Xie She speaks of his youth, he still cherishes a few moments in particular. The hand holding a bamboo sword, beneath swaying bamboo shadows. The eyes that looked his way with a faint smile, under a moonlit sky. The broad shoulders that carried him away, beneath a rain of blood. Xie She will never forget protecting his master, not even in his next life. Xie She: "My master is refined and elegant in front of others, but with me, he's wanton, spoiled, and shameless." He is the moon over the human world, bright enough to pierce the heavens, and a petal of plum blossom amid heaps of snow. My true heart is for him alone. I have no protagonist halo. Every time I return, I stake my life on it. [Dark, devoted attack x easygoing beauty receiving, younger man] * A few things to know before reading: 1.
