Nightingale

[Scheduled to launch within two years. This novel will have different covers while in the manuscript, serialization, and completed stages.]

When Aksel walks silently down a long, shadowy street, carrying a black iron birdcage entwined with flowers, countless people are so afraid that they dare not even speak his name. They only call him "that nightingale."

The ill-tempered nightingale, the murderous nightingale, the nightingale who stands atop graves and silently sings a funeral song.

The nightingale sings, his eyes fixed on the city in the sky.

One day, he will make that city come crashing down, while the birds fly upward.

[We gaze up at the sky from the ruins. The world is one enormous cage.]

[The gods in the heavens have taken our wings. We will turn our remaining feathers into blades and swords.]

[Content warning]

1. The world is inhabited by birds, all of them anthropomorphized and bearing the traits of different bird species.

2. Steampunk, heavily fairy-tale-inspired, overflowing with chuunibyou energy. A fantastical story I simply wanted to write.

3. One-on-one romance, the bottom is the protagonist, happy ending. A light-averse, insane Eurasian eagle-owl x nightingale.

Theme: prosperity, democracy, civility, and harmony
