How Could Anyone Mistake a Person for a Kitten?

[A short, sweet story I suddenly really wanted to write!]

Jiang Shiyan got into a minor car accident, and the virtual reality chip installed in his brain years ago developed a crack.

Jiang Shiyan: Doctor, is there any chance this condition can be cured?

Doctor: The chance isn't zero. Fortunately, it's only a functional chip, so it won't affect your daily life much.

Jiang Shiyan breathed a huge sigh of relief. He walked out of the hospital, turned a corner, and met the cat who was destined to be his for the rest of his life: a handsome male calico with a fine figure.

He named his cat "Genius" and happily carried him home.

From then on, Jiang Shiyan was obsessed with raising cats and became a complete cat slave. He also started a side gig as a short-video creator, occasionally livestreaming to earn his master some cans of food.

But then strange things started happening...

First, the pet hospital flat-out refused to neuter his Genius. Then his short-video account went viral, with fans howling in the comments every day: "So sweet, give us more!" and "What dirt does he have on you?" His livestream channel kept getting moved to the romance section by the platform, and every time he had to struggle to switch it back to the pets section.

Eventually, the platform gave in.

Jiang Shiyan became the most popular pet influencer around!

Jiang Shiyan happily started a livestream to thank everyone. In front of a million fans, he pulled the hair tie off his head and tossed it away.

"Genius, go fetch!"

Then the viewers watched in stunned silence as the youngest E9-level executive at Wanxiang Group, who had been sitting on the sofa, got up. The cool, dignified man slowly walked out, slowly picked up the hair tie in his mouth, and slowly walked back.

Viewers: ...How did you convince him to do this with you?!

After receiving a new treatment, Jiang Shiyan choked up repeatedly in his hospital room, unable to accept it.

Sob, how could a human possibly be identified as a kitten...

The calico sat quietly at his bedside, chewing an apple peel in one unbroken strip for him.

[Please read the following]

1. The chip in the protagonist's head is cracked. When it comes to cats, his logic is completely self-consistent in a delusional way, and he will rationalize everything. Everyone else, including the love interest and the platform, is perfectly normal.

2. A light comedy, short and sweet, a romance like a home-invasion kidnapping (?).

3. CP: Li Yun x Jiang Shiyan. A CEO forced to be a cat, seme x a sunny cat-lover, uke. 1v1, both are virgins.

Theme: Love and dreams, hope and vows.
