Turns Out I Was Supposed to Become an Immortal

[The subject matter made it hard to maintain a good writing schedule. I'll post as soon as it's finished. Thank you for waiting.] As the ninth prince, Lu Kongxing was born with white hair and violet eyes, different from everyone else. He had never wanted power or riches. Instead, he worked tirelessly for his elder brother and the Great Zhao dynasty, pouring his heart and soul into their service. In the end, he spent nineteen years imprisoned, before being given a cup of poisoned wine. When Lu Kongxing opened his eyes again, he discovered that he had returned to the day he first entered the palace. Lu Kongxing was dead inside and had no desire to live through it all again. But during the lantern banquet where his elder brother was supposed to be named Crown Prince, lanterns swayed across the city, auspicious clouds descended from the heavens, lotus flowers sprang from the earth, and a white deer arrived with a host of immortals, riding the wind to invite him to the immortal realm. Lu Kongxing: "..." With the entire court watching and his father and elder brother staring in stunned silence, the ninth prince did not hesitate. He grabbed the deer's antlers, climbed onto its back, and rode off to a carefree immortal paradise amid the strains of celestial music. From then on, the mundane world and the lives and deaths of mortals were no concern of his. Looking back from the white deer's back, he saw that the years gone by and his past life were like a dream of fleeting wealth and glory. Lu Kongxing thought to himself: So... He was meant to become an immortal. [Please note] 1. Immortals and mortals are worlds apart. This is a no-win pursuit, a fiery reckoning for the one who can ascend in a single step and will forever remain out of reach. 2. The early story features immortal magic and palace intrigue (?). The later story is about ascending to immortality. The events described in the blurb happen in between. 3. Some of the mortal supporting characters are reborn. 4. Becoming an immortal in this story isn't cultivation through golden cores and nascent souls. It's ascending straight to the heavens, journeying to the land of immortals, roaming the world, and enjoying carefree eternal life. 5. CP: Lu Wenzhao (the white deer). The white deer is the gong, and the Star Lord is the shou. 6. Cover art by @Meiqie, my superhuman artist wife www [This story will be joining VIP on June 14. Unlike the dramatic roles played by protagonists and supporting characters, this obscure System was responsible for a very unusual domain. It told Xie Jinghong that she would have very few scenes, less prominent even than an extra. Her character's entire life would be spent creating a scene for the protagonist to witness, and that scene would usually be grand beyond compare: the first sight the protagonist sees when a new world opens up to them, for instance, or a moment in their life they would never forget. In other words... System: It's a glimpse of splendor, a sight that lasts a thousand years, but doesn't lead to much further interaction. System: Apart from that scene and the work you put into creating it, you can slack off for the rest of your time. Xie Jinghong: !!! What a deal! Yin Duoyue would never forget that scene. When he first entered the immortal sect, he saw clouds rolling like dragons across a vast sea of mist. His junior granduncle, who had been in seclusion for a thousand years, stood with his black hair loose. With a single strike of his sword, he split open the outer reaches of the starry sky, then descended into the sea of clouds alongside a rainbow. A glimpse of splendor. A glimpse... And he was smitten. [Scene One: The sword cultivator junior granduncle emerges from seclusion, his sword shaking the heavens] [Scene Two: A reclusive tycoon who holds the reins of power reveals the edge of his robe on a variety show] [Scene Three: The first phoenix cry in a world undergoing spiritual qi revival] [Scene Four: A glance at the airport crowd, where someone looks like the one who got away] [Scene Five: A fleeting vision of life as it once was amid the wasteland of the apocalypse] Theme: Love and dreams, hope and vows
