Edmund, a general with a distinguished record of military service, is being driven to distraction by his arranged marriage.

Though his fiance, Chu Ci, is widely recognized as the most beautiful person in the Five Star Systems and the sole heir to the royal family's vast fortune, the general often tells people he simply can't handle him:

"Chu Ci is beautiful, sure, but he's a silly little thing who can't lift a weapon or make sense of a mecha. I'd much rather have a soulmate who can match me in strength."

"He's so helpless and frail. When he's scared at night, he has to sleep in my clothes. When he has nightmares, I have to cross half the city to comfort him. If he were even a little like his late tyrant of a father, I wouldn't have to worry that he couldn't survive without me."

"He's also hopelessly old-fashioned and domestic. All he does is orbit around me, and he even wants to have two kids for me. If I'd known he was this clingy, I would have been harsher when I rescued him from space pirates. Maybe then he wouldn't be so infatuated with me."

Later, on the eve of their engagement banquet, the general was taken hostage by Chu Ci, piloting an SSSS-class mecha. His delicate, sweet fiance aimed a heavy weapon taller than himself at the general's head, his eyes filled with ambition and ruthlessness. "Where did you lock up Pierre? Let him go."

The general was heartbroken. "Pierre's pirate gang is a band of vicious criminals. Weren't you an innocent civilian they kidnapped???"

Chu Ci: "You've got it wrong. I'm the second-in-command of the 'vicious pirate gang' you mentioned. If you hadn't interfered that day, Pierre and I would have broken into the vault at the Federal First Bank."

The general: "You're a former imperial prince! Why become a pirate and rob a bank?! Besides, didn't I give you all my money?"

Chu Ci: "And you have the nerve to ask. My restorationist followers are developing weapons and doing research, and they also have to evade your Federation's raids. Which of those things doesn't burn money?"

The general took a deep breath. "Just cut ties with those pirate rebels, and I'll clean up this whole mess for you. What about what you said, that you loved me, would marry me, and have my children..."

Before Chu Ci could deny all three, the pirate underling behind him landed a critical blow: "Sister-in-law, he won't talk. Let's just chop off both his hands and trade him to the Federation for our boss."
