Beneath the Shadow [Infinite]

[The plot moves too fast right now. I'll revise the later chapters and post the complete story once it's ready. Read at your own risk.]

Shadows are strange, sinister things.

They say that when light falls on an object, the shadow it casts is part of its soul.

Before she fell into another world, life began to grow bizarre:

On the night Lin Zhihuai returned to her hometown to keep vigil, she went to the bathroom and saw another version of herself. Calmly, she pulled up her pants.

"Sorry, I'm on my period. I heard you guys are all afraid of that?"

The next day, while washing up at home, she suddenly noticed that her reflection had no shadow.

On the third day, as she walked home from work, someone called her name. Curious, she glanced at the glass of the shopping mall next door. The "her" inside waved. The next moment, she was in a bizarre world of mirrors.

And so her strange tales began.

-

The people of the Exorcist Society hadn't expected two such odd newcomers this time. One was as pure and innocent as a delicate white lotus swaying in the wind (and that's a compliment), yet crushed a monster's head with one hand.

The other had a stern face and the domineering air of a powerful big shot, yet buried his face in the girl's chest and sobbed when he saw a ghost.

Lin Zhihuai: "Buddy, your head's really hard. It's digging into me."

Yin Chuan: "Waaah, this is terrifying! I want to go back to the real world and bulldoze this place!"

From then on, Lin Zhihuai had a shiny golden human accessory tagging along as she braved the strange tales.

-

Ghost clowns, insect bodies, lying spirits, identical twins...

Thirteen strange worlds, thirteen terrifying experiences.

They say you can only fully reclaim your shadow by clearing every challenge.

Lin Zhihuai: "Sounds good. I'll beat it until it crawls back on its own!"

Yin Chuan: "Violent woman! Muscle freak! Ghost-killing maniac!"

Lin Zhihuai: "Hmm?"

Yin Chuan: "I was wrong. You're actually a delicate Lin Daiyu."
