Bone Seeker

A writing exercise, free to read

They say people have three souls and three bones: the Earth Bone, the Heaven Bone, and the Soul Bone.

The three bones shape the body, establish one's fate, and form the foundation of the world.

Ordinary doctors can set broken bones, but few know that there are people who can replace broken bones in the living, determine the feng shui of a clan, and help strangers find their way home.

These people call themselves Bone Seekers.

Chang Yihe spent the first half of her life avoiding her calling as a Bone Seeker. But after the blind old woman who raised her died, she instead wanted to find the woman's bones and demand an explanation.

Because, before she died, the blind old woman had read her fate:

"Your Soul Bone is broken. You are destined to have no home in this life."

Chang Yihe scoffed.

She wanted to know exactly how she was supposed to end up homeless.
