Plucking Stars

[The print edition is now available QWQ]

After her parents divorce, Xu You moves with her mother to Yucheng for school, where she meets a boy with gloomy eyes who barely speaks.

He doesn't fit in, but his features are striking and refined, and he ranks at the top of his class. He's so dazzling that people can't help taking a second look when he walks by.

Xu You falls in love with him at first sight and writes him a love letter, only to watch him toss it into a pile of scrap paper.

After that, she rests her head on her desk, feeling miserable. In that moment, she crushes her youthful crush with her own hands.

Years later

A friend tells Xu You, "I heard Jiang Yao suddenly dropped out back then because he went abroad for treatment for his ears. Apparently, he's had hearing problems since he was little and felt a bit inferior. Do you really not like him anymore?"

Xu You purses her lips. "Even if he felt inferior, he still didn't like me back then. It's been so many years. I've long forgotten what it felt like to like him."

"Unrequited love is painful. Once was enough."

Just as she finishes speaking,

she catches sight of Jiang Yao standing to one side, looking at her, his eyes reddened and his expression utterly miserable.
